Can anyone please explain the choppiness effect we have on the Sensation cameras (stock and modded)?
While recording the video it's not fluid at all, but the recorded material seems allright.

Just start up camera app on a Sensation vs Galaxy S2 (or even S1, LG Optimus, etc.) and pan around without recording...you'll see what i mean.
You don't have to be in video shooting mode, photo mode has the same behavior.

Once the issue is pinned down, any chance to get it fixed?
Thanks!

I don't have this issue. I used to, and then when I changed roms (played around testing other roms like InsertCoin/Bulletproof) the camera worked GREAT recording 1080p. I used to have that really bad choppiness effect.. couldn't even record in 1080p. Try a 3.5 rom, the camera is 100x better in sense 3.5 and EVEN better with amaze camera

i am running a custom rom based on Sense 3.5 leaked....in fact Insertcoin 3.3.2 with Amaze camera....

but that's not the issue...it is why the recorded video plays back perfectly smooth, but when recording it it looks choppy?!

That makes sense, though. When you are recording a video you are actually saving the information to the SDcard then immediately playing it back as well. Lots of processing power and lots of disk i/o at once.

It isn't quite as much when it is just playing 1080p video.
