Or at least a good part of the answer, LOL
I have to date been unable to find any build that sports the magical combination of "Sense HD" and a working camera (on any sort) for the HD2.
Once you try Sense HD, it's really painful to go back. Kind of like having Windows 7 Ultimate, and then going back to some basic version without any of the Media Center stuff....
I realize the camera fix must be a real toughie, but still, I am surprised one of the mega-geniuses on XDA have not resolved it. The only builds I even knew of with Sense HD for HD2 were the Froyostone HD (Discontinued) and the 2 Mdeejay builds (Desire HD and Desire Z) He seems to have dropped Desire Z for some reason (too similar to Desire HD, perhaps?)
Not only does it (Sense HD, if that's even the correct term for this newest of Sense builds for Android) provide a live connection to a free account on: htcsense.com - which, in turn give you things like Scenes, Themes & Wallpaper, as well as free Phone Finder & Data Wipe services, it ALSO monitors what apps you install (if you choose this, it's optional) and.. check it:
If you start with a clean install (New data store) it goes ahead and INSTALLS all the apps you had on your phone when you last connected. This blew me away! Here I was, groaning about how many apps I was going to have to chase down, when all of a sudden I take a look and, HEY! They are all here (most anyway), a few were still installing. Sweeeet!
Really, this is ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR! Oh, what the heck: Santa, I have been good, can you conjure up a nice stable, fully functioning WP7 for me too? Thanks! (The cookies & milk will be ready 7 waitin' for ya!)
