Separate Ringer and Notification Volume

So I replaced my SGS7 with the awesome Razor Phone 2. First thing I notice is that the Ringer and Notification volume are linked where as the SGS7 was not. I'm so used to having control over both separately. So I went on a hunt for an app. Saw a couple websites recommending Volume Butler. I was able to separate the two visually with volume sliders but phone wouldn't ring if notification was 0 and ringer was maxed. So the two volumes were obviously still linked behind the scenes.

Does anyone know of an app that can truly separate the two volumes? Root or no root options.
