No noticeable improvement. The phone is basically in a 24/7 low signal situation no matter which firmware you're on unless you're staring at a tower.
Probably because june patch wasnt realesed for pixel
Is root working fine now? I recall seeing others state that there are issues with root on all A14 beta builds. On some boots, there is a chance that root is not detected. On other boots, it might be detected and work correctly. Is this the case for you?Now that this reached the platform stability, I did a factory reset. With usual root setup, No noticable issues so far. Seems pretty stable build!
I haven't faced any issues. I'm rooted with Magisk 26.1 with universal safetynet fix , AOSP mods, adaway etc. and everything is working well. I did reboot 3-4 times and root is detected every single time. All my banking apps, Google pay and wallet works seamlessly. Is root working fine now? Awesome! Thank you for the quick response! I suppose that I can try out Android 14 after all at this point since root now seems to be working without issue!I haven't faced any issues. Just to add again, I did perform a factory reset. I hope that you don't face any issues If you come from A13 with dirty flash.Awesome! Thank you for the quick response! I suppose that I can try out Android 14 after all at this point since root now seems to be working without issue!
Gotcha. Thanks for the tip! I always tend to do full device wipes between manual updates as I have noticed the issues that other users have run into after continuously dirty flashing. It's usually better for me to play it safe =P.Just to add again, I did perform a factory reset. I hope that you don't face any issues If you come from A13 with dirty flash.
I guess the HerE We GO app isn't optimized yet for A14, hence the crashes. Perhaps a future update will fix it. In the mean time, you can use Waze, Sygic or GMapsYesterday clean flashed A14B3 and works well, battery seems better that A13beta as I previous been on it. What bothers me as HERE we go navigation force closes as I need it for work. Already reported on feedback so will see.
Nice a modem improvement.Small, undocumented modem bump seems to be the bulk of the patch size.
But then you'd have to assume software developers actually listen to their customersIt's extremely annoying they swapped smartlock with extend unlock without telling us and removed one of the most important features
That's expected, or normal.it appears im having some recovery issues when i adb to to recoery i get the android laying down with the red traingle and it says no command? any ideas
If one would chose to do step 10 and beyond, I'd change step 10 to this just to be double sure (I'm paranoid)
Boot to system to make sure it boots properly, and let the system do it's thing (in case there is an issue, you want your previous slot intact), then reboot back to bootloader and continue to step 11, actually there is no need to switch slots as in step 10, as sideloading will do that, otherwise you're rewriting to the same slot that you had already written to.One last thing, step 3, you can extract init_boot from ota, it's in the payload.bin, this way you don't have to download both ota and factory.
Funny enough, I had problems without root....I tested it just for fun and yeah, it wouldn't allow me to sign on or add cards.I read an article yesterday that said Wallet was having "issues" on QPR1....regardless of root. For some it worked and other it did not. So its not necessarily a root issue if you have Wallet problems.
In addition to the great advice of @roirraW "edor" ehT , you could also go over to the Pixel Flasher thread and submit a support zip so he can look at it and figure out what went wrong. If things have changed with A14 QPR1 Beta 1, I'm sure he would appreciate the heads up as well.i was on 5.3 and have had no issues with flashing ota's in the past but with this qr1 beta for whatever reason with pixel flasher the software doesn't change. itll flash and say it is complete but the rom doesnt seem to be changing. Any ideas or help is appreciated
It's working fine for me. There's a couple of little nags. There a general consensus on 5.2? I'm currently on 4.1 at the moment and thinking of flashing it.
Welcome to the Android 14 Developer Preview! This first release is for developers only, to help with early development, testing, and feedback. Android 14 Developer Preview 1 is an early baseline build that's still in active development, so the Android system and apps running on it might not always work as expected.
Google uploaded the GSIs for A14 Beta 5 to their servers today, so I guess we may get the factory images today.....or soon.
