Anyone else having issues with Google Pay? I flashed the Sept. update WITH the -w because my phone just needed to be reset, so, wiped everything, including root obviously. Now Gpay is saying it can't be used in stores because my phone has been rooted or modified in some way. I have not re-rooted or anything. WTH is going on? My bootloader is still unlocked, but that was not a problem before this update.

Can you still do a factory wipe then flash it same way again? User-initiated factory reset might help make it ok with GPay.

Actually, I did do a factory reset a couple hours after flashing with the -w. My Google backup was stuck. So, yeah, totally did that too. I'm definitely NOT doing another though lol, it took me two days to get my Gear S3 to fully setup again after this. Anyway, no gpay isn't a deal breaker. I was just fishing for a fix. Thanks!

Definitely weird over here. On TMobile and had no luck. Just followed JaTe01's lead and tossed in an inactive Verizon sim. Like magic, the update began!

Sept OTA for Oreo??

I am running the stock Oreo, rooted, with the last security patch OTA sideloaded from July. I was going to sideload the Sept patch, but wanted to be sure this install going to work with the current stock Oreo ROM.

I sideloaded the update, but my friend's got a full stock pixel 2xl with Vodafone UK sim card in it (the device was bought directly from Google) and hasn't received the update yet. The UK was a few days late with the July update as well.

How does one aquire a Verizon Sim if your on TMO?
I used to have Verizon, and my OG pixel xl malfunctioned last March that I got as an insurance replacement. when I filed a warranty claim with them, they sent me a brand new pixel 2 XL as a replacement since they didn't have any pixel XL in stock. When they sent the phone, it had a Verizon sim in it, that I held onto.

Thanks for that info, ended up downloading the OTA and sideloaded it through ADB. Couldn't wait any longer.
I'm now running September's update! ?

Another t-mobile user with no update

Same as others: no update despite daily button mash of check for updates. Popped in verizon sim, and update is now available.
I see someone else did get the update who is on T-Mo. Possibly this is related to there being a Carrier Services Update available in the Play Store?
