No noticeable improvement. The phone is basically in a 24/7 low signal situation no matter which firmware you're on unless you're staring at a tower.
Is root working fine now? I recall seeing others state that there are issues with root on all A14 beta builds. On some boots, there is a chance that root is not detected. On other boots, it might be detected and work correctly. Is this the case for you?
I haven't faced any issues. I'm rooted with Magisk 26.1 with universal safetynet fix , AOSP mods, adaway etc. and everything is working well. I did reboot 3-4 times and root is detected every single time. All my banking apps, Google pay and wallet works seamlessly.
Awesome! Thank you for the quick response! I suppose that I can try out Android 14 after all at this point since root now seems to be working without issue!I haven't faced any issues. Just to add again, I did perform a factory reset. I hope that you don't face any issues If you come from A13 with dirty flash.
Gotcha. Thanks for the tip! I always tend to do full device wipes between manual updates as I have noticed the issues that other users have run into after continuously dirty flashing. It's usually better for me to play it safe =P.
I guess the HerE We GO app isn't optimized yet for A14, hence the crashes. Perhaps a future update will fix it. In the mean time, you can use Waze, Sygic or GMaps
how could you clone an app? i have the last beta i am looking for it. ThanksI've got 2 issues with Beta 5.2
First, everything went well but occasionally the bottom 1/3 of my screen doesn't respond correctly. Like swiping up for the app drawer makes the screen act like the drawer is opening but nothing happens. When it does this, no touch or swipe on the bottom 1/3 of the screen *anywhere* does anything - other than a down-swipe to close the non-existent app drawer.
I have to shut off the phone and turn it back on (not power off/on) to get the screen to respond correctly again, and then it's fine until some random, arbitrary thing happens that causes it to lock up again.
The top 2/3 of the screen respond normally at all times.
The other thing is I just wanted to try out cloned apps. For me it was a mistake. While it did successfully clone the app I wanted it to, it created cloned apps for EVERY Google apk on the phone in the background, and I'm not able to uninstall them. It acts like it's uninstalling but they just come right back. That's annoying and even though I know I can disable them or hide them, I know they're still there. I like a tidy workspace and so this is going to bug me.
Welcome to the Android 14 Developer Preview! This first release is for developers only, to help with early development, testing, and feedback. Android 14 Developer Preview 1 is an early baseline build that's still in active development, so the Android system and apps running on it might not always work as expected.
