Had the random reboot problem myself. Seems like the problem was the Play Store for me. Went in to the store settings and basically unchecked everything minus the pin lock for purchases and so far my phone has seen alot less random reboots. Stock 2.3.6 btw.

Anyone have the issue when all your apps crash and you get a ton of pop ups saying this crashed this crashed etc?

I had problems with reboots as well with cm7 and cm9 roms. Had to do fresh install of rom after fastboot wipe. That fixed it for me. :D

I used to have random reboots too. I also tried many kinds of rom cm7, cm9, stock 4.5.91 but it did not work. Then I did a fastboot wipe and flashed stock 4.5.141. Now my phone runs smoothly with no random reboots anymore so you can try this method, bros :good:

Mine was doing a sudo restart over and over.. Didn't actually restart but went through the motions like it was. I just factory reset and the problem went away.

Radio causing reboots

I don't use my Atrix 4G anymore because it wasn't reliable... I would like to switch back to it however, but the random reboots are killing me. I'm running CM 7.2.0. When I installed, I formatted all partitions 3 times. The one thing I've noticed is that if I put the phone in Airplane mode, the reboots stop. Currently I'm using the phone without a SIM card or flash card to eliminate external factors...

Just a thought, but my 1st Atrix 4G did not have any of these problems, but it ended up FUBAR... My replacement phone had the problems. Anyone know if there were any hardware changes between builds?

Really bad on stock, would reboot while on the phone. Flashed to CM7 and the reboots changed to only rebooting when sleeping...
I contacted Motorola today and they gave me a return number. Don't know if they are going to give me any crap out the ROM being non-stock, but I'll find out. I haven't used the phone for 6 months so I'll keep everyone posted...

Thanks...

Just flash the 2.3.6 sbf. Then you can be sure to have no problems.

If you are gonna return it, then flash the latest Gingerbread stock ROM...

I never knew this but it turns out they really don't care. The very first thing they do as they get the device in an automated process is flash it back to stock, probably with an the SBK they have which we don't.

I started to, but already had it packaged up and ready to ship. So, if they fix it great, if they charge me, I'll piss and moan but pay it, because I prefer my Atrix 4G to my Galaxy Skyrocket... Battery life and the Atrix fits in my pocket... :)

Phone Repair

OK. Just got my Atrix 4G back today. Seems to work ok, but before I transfer any of my data back to the phone, I'm going to use it as a stand alone for my WiFi over the weekend. I'll post the results next week.

The repair order says the phone was repaired and lists a part called "FLIP FLEX".
Other than that, the phone was returned to the stock OS, so I'll run that for a week or so before I flash CM7.

[UPDATE] 10 Aug 2012

My Atrix is still having problems with random reboots. I'm sending it back to Motorola again... :(

My reboots solving experience and a question

Hi guys,

I want to share my reboots solving experience. My Atrix started rebooting since I flashed 2 times epinter's JB rom and did nandroid backup restore. My Atrix rebooted 2 or 3 times per day, leaving nothing at /proc/last_kmsg. I tried many advice from this thread, including clean rom reinstalling, fastboot wipe and reflashing the radio, but nothing helped. Then I remembered some post at this forums that said that rom installations sometimes corrupt PDS and i tried to restore PDS from a backup which i did long time ago and stored at my PC. And it helped! I haven't had any reboots for 3 days.

Unfortunately, I didn't save my old, corrupted PDS to see the difference. So, my question is: why do rom installations corrupt PDS and what exactly they corrupt?
