well thanks, I understood the posts on the last page as if only the, bricking sbf has to be removed, due to obvious reasons. Can't offer anything but stock sbf's from my side (don't have the time to extract them and upload separate img files for fastboot flashing).

I knew it, I was cleaning my drive up the other day and almost deleted a bunch of old files I has from messing around with my phone, which I just got back into. Most are sbf but some aren't, I knew there was a reason I didn't and I almost did thinking "they're all available online".

We need those flying drone servers or something to stop the attacks on downloading.

I disagree with SOPA and it was an important reminder to all of us about the freedom of the internet and how we have to work to keep it free.

It's not exactly that simple my friend. I just ran through the process of full extracting the 2.3.6 - 4.5.141 SBF. The output file format is SMG and not IMG. Now this is where things get real fogged up as you can spend days searching online for a way to work with SMG files after extracting the SBF successfully. Using the ext2explore tool which you can use to extract system.img and boot.img files correctly as well as webtop.img i believe, it cannot process the SMG files and throws an error soon as you tell it to read the SMG files.

Trick here is to keep going down the list of the extracted SMG files using ext2explore until you eventually get to the file that doesn't give the same error as before. That's going to be either your boot.img or system.img but regardless, you'll be able to extract it now into anynameyouwanthere.img. Now remember that all the apk files at this point will be odexed or as I refer to this as being "obese" so ideally you'd want to deodex the framework folder & app folder respectively to trim the fat by tucking it inside so things like thinner.

Unless you're willing to undertake that project to do it the right way from start to finish successfully, find some patience to sit for a long time to do all this , and I'm sure you and most other people will agree that they wouldn't want to get into something like this, too much work to do and if you don't know what you're doing or have experience working with these files, this task can at times seem impossible to finish avoiding errors along the way.

That's when people resort to just plugging in an SBF file into RSD and let it handle the rest of the work on its own. Although as great of a tool RSD is and SBF can help resolve some bad issues with restoring a phone that will not cooperate, people also choose to flash SBF files simply because it's easy and requires no effort. This makes flashing SBF files a fallacy of composition and just as easily convert a phone into a good hat weight or a door jammer or table leg wedge with no effort either and will not leave any chances of a possible recovery back to a usable condition again.

There were a whole plethora of SBF files up there when this project began. The amount of variations in the roms they included for the different regions, languages, versions, radios, webtops, android versions, i couldn't believe how many different sbf files were available just for the atrix, it was difficult to decypher some of them just by file names to even begin guessing which ones could be the right version to use that were the original files that haven't been "hacked" or "modded" by someone somewhere along the way. Plus the only people that do flash those files on their phones are what we used to be at some point in the past, fully qualified noobanians that got advice from a friend to flash sbf files to root the phone. It's never the guys that have been around for a while that have experience & good knowledge on things, those are the guys that willl avoid SBF at all costs until there's no options left to try whatsoever. Thank god for the custom recoveries that flash roms and mods and tweaks with ease and at the same time take away that risk of ending up taking a trip to Brick City to drop off your phone there.

Personally I'm glad for the decision to exclude those files from the repository as it absolutely and very vividly maintains the truly useful files in a cleaner directory structure. It removes the clutter and mess that those files eventually make in the repository as not everyone follows instructions on uploading to the repository. That would leave just Sam to be on top of all those sbf files dumped into the root of the repository and just left there. That's still happening anyway with everything else being uploaded but with other files it's fairly easy to know by name where to place it properly. Those sbf files are a nightmare to decypher sometimes with never ending files names.

Sam, thank you for allowing permissions for moving files around and copying into folders and etc... From just looking at the transfer logs on my ftp client, it says I've uploaded 608MB worth of files. I tried to help you keep it clean by moving files into the correct folders to keep things clean & organized . I hate seeing the root of any directory to have a laundry list long collection of random files. I also still only uploaded 8 or 9 roms so far, I have a huge list of so many other roms for the atrix that will be uploaded soon. This repository will the most complete, diverse and thorough collection of all the roms that can be flashed on the atrix.

Can you in big words remind people in that first post to follow instructions on uploading files. Not just upload files and dip, leaving the file sitting outside all folders for someone else to eventually have to move it. It's not that difficult to follow instructions on uploading files and keeping the folder structures organized so it's kept clean for the future... thanks for providing this repo for storing atrix files that work in 1 location. For all of us on at&t with an atrix, we' have to ride this thing out til the wheels fall off, the damn deductible for insurance replacement is still $125 plus some other fees... yet the damn phone cost me $0.01 with a 2 year contract, i even got a bill in the mail for $0.01, no tax or other fees. So this repo is a peace of mind knowing everything one could need can be found in 1 location. It should be called project iHoard (international House of Atrix Repositories Domain)

It is easier to just remove the bootloader and make "safe sbfs". Sam agreed to do this when requested.

Also, Portable SBF Tool generally works best for extracting images from sbfs.

There is some useful info here.

I have Portable SBF Tool and a few other sbf related tools I will upload if they are not already there. Don't know why I didn't already......

Edit:
I just looked through my stuff, and I have quite a few things I forgot to upload. I will do it soon.

Thanks for organizing that stuff aandroid-DEP. When the project first started, I spent hours organizing the mess people made. I haven't been in there in a while to look at it.

And iHoard would be cool, except we don't allow "i" stuff on the forum lol. MAtrix Reloaded would have been best, but Sam didn't want to get sued by WB.

Ok, so unless i missed a few things, I believe the ROM section is complete. I did want to find a copy of Aura rom by Diviance to add in. I got the /system folder from original zip but the certs and updater script\binary is not included. Would there be a point in just posting a zip of the /system folder? I know some of us would have no problem making it work but some might get lost too. Perhaps someone wants to take the file to sign it and add in an updater-script? I'm pressed on time I can spend on something like that but if anyone wants to make it work, be my guest and I'll send the zip file over.

Documentation

Great project, I had been struggling with all the broken links on xda for a while now.

While names provide some description, is there any thought of having a wiki of some sort of document that can provide some details on individual files?

will create a wiki and a fruit cake for the ics leak tomorrow
Or how about doing it like the AOSP source file directories and including 1 single Readme or Package.html which explains what the files in the folder are? As well as state in more details what each file is exactly and what the files are for exactly and perhaps some quick note on who or how to implement them appropriately. This way there won't be any need to devoting a huge amount of effort into building an entire wiki type thing for everything that's listed up there. It will take a long time to complete writing something up for a phone that will slowly be replaced by the newer model Atrix HD for example which could be an interesting toy to start playing with now in it's early stages.

The atrix HD is already going for $20 with a new 2 year contract near me which is unbelievable, perhaps it would make sense to hoard any file for it that anyone comes across. Then use the repo storage to back up to so when other people move up to it from the aging atrix, everyone will be well aware of where to go for all their necessary files without searching every forum online. I'm sure there will be plenty of information to share as well as files relating to ICS and any future builds that seem to double in size.

The Atrix HD has an unlocked bootloader from factory. Fastboot is fully functional. Rooting is broken, and no sources are available. Someone needs to start writing Motorola for legit source release.

I will also consider your suggestion. I'll be willing to set up a text document on google docs maybe an excel sheet. Open this document to everyone. Any volunteers to fill this sheet out?

trying to return to stock

I downloaded 1.83 off your site and am using RSD lite 5.3.1, every time I drag and drop 1.8.3 zip into rsd it tells me no supported files in this zip file. I was wondering if you could tell me what im doing wrong.
