Update: after my phone updated to the 183 firmware, the memory leaks were gone! If you are still having issues, see if there is a firmware update for your device.

Sorry for digging into an old thread, but I just had the same issue with my Mate 20 Pro on EMUI 10. (10.0.0.182). After using the phone for about a day, all apps will be restarted after using the stock camera. Does anyone know of a solution to this? I've uninstalled "PowerGenie" using ADB, and everything works well without any unnecessary killing of background apps. But the stock camera always does that.

I've about 1.4GB of RAM left after a day. How much RAM does the stock camera uses? Maybe the available RAM isn't enough so it releases all apps and restarts those that are configured to be restarted again. Any help is much appreciated.

There is only one way that worked with 9.X, and it was to delete the HuaweiLauncher via adb commands and use 3rd party launcher such as Nova.

Then the camera would NEVER kill any background tasks.

However, with Android 10 the gestures are unusable when removing the launcher, i hope future update will make it possible again.

Are 3rd party gesture apps not working with Nova after the removal of HuaweiLauncher? e.g. fng (Fluid Navigation Gestures).

Disabling Huawei Launcher and using Nova Launcher does stop all the app-reload problems so far. I've installed an RAM-Booster app that I can manually (or automatically) releases idle apps when RAM gets low. (I've got a 1x1 widget that shows available RAM at all times). I much prefer this than going back to the Huawei Launcher. I'm also using fng for gestures and it's working great as well.

Update: After uninstalling Huawei Launcher and using Nova Launcher for the past two weeks, it seems that Huawei still restarts all apps after about 2 days of usage. This happens after I open RAM hungry apps such as Chrome or Camera. Only a restart of the phone fixes this. I make sure that every app that I open to be closed after using it, and the RAM available is constant at about 1.4GB. Apart from Huawei Launcher (which I've disabled), are there any other Huawei apps that are causing this glitch? I've also uninstalled "PowerGenie".
