Wifi problem.

Hi,

Not able switch on Wifi in my i780. Thanks to Heineken78 ROM, it is working fine with all the other functions. Anybody have any clue to this problem? Or can you give me any link for any guide to open the unit for looking into wifi hardware problem? Thanks - Bals.

Bals go to registry and change
"InitState"=dword:1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\SWLD24SP1\Parms
"InitState"=1
to 0 or 2. Reset And see if its worked.

emydebbo, its WM issue. never bothered with solution sorry.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Can you pls elaborate the procedure to edit the registry since many parameter are shown under /comm/../parms? I have a doubt that the wifi card may be having some hardware problem. Under version/settings, only SW version no is shown under WiFi card and there is no info about HW nd MAC. What do you say? My device can`t find signal on Nogarder GPS and another software.
I download XTRA ,tried change ports and nothing help any ideas???

I've broken one contact 'leg' of the sim card reader of my SGH-i780, so my phone cannot be used as a phone (...).

=> I give my SGH-i780 for free to the first one who asks. I just ask you to pay for the shipment (I live in France). Send me a PM if you wish it.

There are few minor bugs, but it after of using it for almost 4 years with same firmware!
- sometimes phone asks for password after standby - when sdcard is not inserted. Fix delete some values in registry;
- sometimes not all contacts are displayed in dialer. Fix- use Address book for contact searching;
- delay when answering phone call. Fix: just reset phone once in half year..

Same with me here, phone is working perfectly until now... only flap covers have already worn out. =)

I would choose for Windows Phone, Nokia.
Pluses: Its smooth stable system, with consumption much less than any Android also it has solid certified hardware inside, smooth touch. Can unlock device for developer unlock officially for free to install up to 4 (XAP/CABS)
Minuses: no roots, no customized roms.
If you prefer to get frequent useless updates, customizing's, rooting playing games then go for Android
Pluses: Rooting, customizations, custom roms, many games and applications.
Minuses: Android still unprofessional system by google, cheap phones do use **** hardware (such TI chips (LG) or MTK (Lenovo)), high power consumption, bad touch in compare to Windows.


If I was taking an Andriod device I would take only Sony, with good design and expensive hardware.


Apple - nothing on it.
PS: Don't buy any Samsung's. In 2010 they started to save on quality and materials to lower the price.

Have got Xperia Z (c6603) with broken screen for free. Ordered case with screen on ebay only for 52$ and repaired it.
Flashed with many roms, mods, used is as phone for week...Now im selling this useless phone and happy with my old i780.
May be I would buy Windows Phone sometime, but nothing will exchange i780 quality and handy features for me.
