This is the Vantom kernel I'm currently using with Calyxos (
CalyxOS-A13-20230429-UNOFFICIAL-sweet).

VantomKernel-sweet-20230506_KSU

The Aghisna kernel it comes with doesn't work properly with wireguard, but this Vantom kernel works.

That has kernelsu updates so it will work, at least with the 0.5.7 kernelsu app (0.6.0 doesn't work).

This is also the original Vantom kernel version without KernelSU.

VantomKernel-sweet-223-ForkedLibyanOnionLeg-20230220

I may try that, also, since I'm not using KernelSU right now.

I'm right now on this kernel. First impression is fine.

⚡️ ElectroKernel (sweet/sweetin) Android 11/12/13 - OSS/MIUI & Ports - Both KernelSU and Normal build are available - Updated KernelSU (10984) - Implemented DTS AUDIO DRIVER, use this module to use it - Implemented LiveDisplay KLAPSE Driver. - Introduce simple low - memory killer for better ram management - Enabled MGLRU - Upstreamed to 4.14.317-RC1 - Roms based on pulkit DT are supported now. - Backport: rcu 5.4, zstd, fuse - Added adreno boost for performance -Simplified file blocker - Updates dev frequency boost drivers, etc. -defconfig: Enable NTFS read/write - Merged latest caf/clo Tags - Roms based on neobuddy trees flash MIUI Variant. - Nuke wakelock which was causing battery drain while connected to headphones - Literally too many changes, can't list them all. By: @kernelpAnix && @the_doctorstrange && @im_aarav67

DTX AUDIO MAGISK MODULE As we've included DTX Audio in upcoming Kernel. So to Use DTX AUDIO, just flash this module in magisk and enjoy!!

Currently on pixelos latest build with Sleepy kernel that came out the day before yesterday, latest fw too. It's averaging around 0.5%/h when idle and wifi/data turned off. Is there a kernel that can do even better in terms of standby drain? how does Electrokernel fare in that aspect? Thanks!

I'm using it with CalyxOS

CalyxOS-A13-20230429-UNOFFICIAL-sweet

I just installed it, so I'm not sure if it will be any different than the older Vantom kernel I had installed. It seems very smooth and fast. The older Vantom kernel's battery performance was ok, but not exceptional.

The tradeoff for reliability and smooth performance is worth it for me, though, since the stock Aghisna kernel in CalyxOS had issues.

Zelo kernel

Build PillOrgyGirl - 7/6/23 ======================= • Added versioning :D • Go back to 300hz (500hz was overkill) • Changes to display code • Switch to CAF DRM for everything • Many thermal changes to allow for better temps, charging and performance • Scheduler changes for less UI lag • Scheduler and IO changes for more throughput • Iorap stuff for more battery life • Updated memory stuff so apps dont get cleared instantly • Revert to Arian's haptics driver (fixes lineage ROMs' vibration adjustment) • Kanged changes to allow booting on lineage ROMs • Many USB fixes • Many fixes for stable fast charging (LN8000 should be reliable now, no disconnects) • Fixed fingerprint sensor bugs • Fixed some random freezes • Nuke logspam from lots of drivers • Nuke useless wakelocks to save battery life • Synced with latest Vantom changes • Merged Linux 4.14.316 • Compile with latest cosmic clang • Merge latest KSU changes • More stuff I'm waaaay too lazy to write down... I don't recommend using charging/thermal modules (including mine). If you do, then don't expect support. NO SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THE MIUI VERSION OF THE KERNEL, IT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK AS INTENDED!!

Build FileNutTest - 9/6/23
=======================

• Fixed fingerprint bugs
• Experimental deep sleep changes (report back any issues)
• Small experimental scheduler changes for greater performance (report back any issues)
• Update some I/O stuff
• Make thermals safer
• Make charging safer
• Merged Linux 4.14.317
• More stuff I'm waaaay too lazy to write down...

Another update for Vantom Kernel from Aryan.

VantomKernel-sweet-20230614-1954

Installed successfully (still on CalyxOS). For what it's worth, I usually clear dalvik & cache after installing the kernel and re-run "cmd package bg-dexopt-job" in a root terminal.

After some battery calibration, I would say the battery performance is similar to the stock kewl kernels I've used in some LineageOS builds (2spirit, Pulkit, /e/OS). It is decent. I have a sip client running so it never deep sleeps anyway. About 1/2 to 1/3 of 1 percent per hour drain at night, i.e. 8 hours sleep 3-4% drain.

since u seem to have tried various roms and kernels, can u suggest the best rom+kernel combo in terms of battery life, especially standby drain? Currently on PixelOS with sleepy kernel(both latest) and the battery life is abysmal. Thank you!

It's hard for me to judge best standby drain because I run a sip client (sipnetic) that does not do push notifications. So it's constantly in contact with a server. I usually stick with the stock kernel unless there's a problem with it, which there was with CalyxOS.

I can say I had problems with the battery both with the stock kernel and Aghisna kernel with ArrowOS 13.1. Aghisna is also a problem on Unmoved's builds (CalyxOS and LineageOS). A lot of people seem to report best battery performance with Aghisna, though. But I've found it problematic.

In general, Vantom and Kewl and the stock kernel in Aryan's LineageOS are known to be more "performance" based than for long battery life.

I don't generally worry too much about battery life unless it's really bad, which it seems to be for you.

Another factor in this is that I stopped using Google Play or Google services and instead I'm using MicroG. Google may consume more battery. One side effect of MicroG is that I get really reliable, instant notifications now and it was a real problem before with no notifications or badly delayed notifications (especially with MIUI/xiaomi.eu).

In general, I'd look at Aryan's LineageOS builds (both with google and vanilla, whichever you prefer) and Unmoved's builds (LineageOS and CalyxOS).

Unmoved's builds are MicroG/no google only, though and they also include MIUI camera. Aryan's only includes the official LineageOS Aperture camera. Aryan's build should get official status soon.

Hello,

Sorry, I installed this kernel on the latest crDroid version (on 2 "Redmi Note 10 pro" smartphones, one with BQ2597 chip and the other with LN8000), and some touch screen functions are not working: two finger zoom no functional, long press on the Gboard space bar of Gboard to move doesn't work...

Thank you for your work. Sincerely,

E.D.

Not every kernel is suitable for every rom (crdroid is especially)

Hello,

I can't find the kernel suitable for my RedmiNote10pro (sweet). I'm on the latest crDroid version (9.5 / 2023-06-20), and the kernel that comes with it is buggy (battery drain, and it freezes when I wake up to the point that sometimes I have to restart it). I tried all the kernels present here, and none seem to work:
1) some freeze on waking up like the original kernel (forced to reboot),
2) others have a battery drain (the stats indicating that it's system app and AndroidOS that are causing the battery drain),
3) finally others are perfect on these points... but do not allow to zoom with two fingers, or to move with the space bar with Gboard (in short, screen touch functions are missing)

Am I the only one in this situation ? Have any of you found a solution? I am OK to replace crDroid (which I like) with another OS, in this case, which one would you recommend?

Thanks for your help.

Manu D.

I've tried the Aghisna kernel, but my phone doesn't pass SafetyNet with it. I assume it has something to do with that kernelSu stuff someone mentioned?
    Anyway, current sleepy works fine.
Regarding the passing safety net, Google recently pushed an update that made it so that cts would require the correct device fingerprint to match before it passed. Meaning, custom roms with Pixel spoofing, or roms that use Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel XL to spoof the device to unlock exclusive pixel features can not pass safetynet. This has been a big issue recently, and many people are complaining about the push (possibly shifting to the new integrity api). So really, the issue is not with the addition of kernelsu. In fact, KernelSU (ksu) is a kernel-based root and no app can touch that, only another root (aka magisk) can, meaning that it can intercept (hide) itself from any app that calls su binary so it is well-hidden by default, at least as of now.
Anyway, there is a temporary fix to it, Displax made a modded safetynet fix that attempts to fix the cts issue, which can be found here:
It's a magisk module so be sure to enable zygisk for it. If you have the normal safetynet fix module, be sure to remove it first.

As it Looks like Sleepy kernel is no longer supporting SWEET (as per a post in Telegram), I've compiled the code with the last set of changes as of Feb 22, 2023.
The following changes/issues were made/addressed from the original code:
    - ZRam set back to 2GB (it was increased to 3GB starting Scarlet Witch build)
    - Fixed incorrect colours when using 120hz (issue in XXX build)

Notes for anyone who uses this:
    - This is only for OSS
    - Choose the file with ln8000 if your device has that charger
    - This includes some updates and fixes from the last official XXX build
    - I'm not liable for any issues/damage to your device
