BATTERY DRAIN TOP APP: Mobile Network (with the same icon used in the status bar for data coverage) is the top battery app. I don't even use mobile data, only wifi. There is no "cell standby" on the LineageOS 20 Android 13, so it appears we have the same problem as MIUI on Android 12. Whatever it is that is jacking up battery usage and the mobile Network function, our phones (Android 12's stock MIUI 13.x.x.x, EliteROM 13.0.x.x and now LineageOS 20 on Android 13) now have this problem. Disabling or uninstalling updates on or Carrier Services (on Android 12) did not solve, and I just disabled Private Compute Services on Lineage - which installed WITHOUT my consent!

Hmm for me not
Did you really made a clean install with flashing firmware and not rooting or rooting after first start with setup?

And about private compute services
It's installed in case of gms ROM
If you don't like then you shouldn't install a ROM with Gapps....

The same issue occurred on fresh LineageOS 20 before logging into a Google account; Mobile Network A13 is the top battery user; I use wifi on both phones and NOT mobile data. (A12 is Cell Standby) This XDA link is helpful, but since A12 does not have the new app for its features, something else is at issue here: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-private-compute-services-app-play-store/

Some app or feature is repeatedly pinging the internet via data despite mobile data being disabled. I want to know what it is! Airplane mode stops it but it is not a permanent solution. LineageOS has the option to turn off the SIM with a slide control; will try that later as well.

Clearly A12 and A13 have this problem, whereas A11 did not.

Please try to switch mobile data always to off like in pic

2% battery loss in last 10 hours or so, and Mobile Network is again the top app. Mobile data is disabled. Magisk is not installed. Same issue occurred on EliteROM MIUI 13 before Google logged in and apps reinstalled. The "always on" for Mobile data in Developer Settings is always off after ROMs installs. For testing, I used laptapper's suggested install method with 2 formats. I am out of ideas. Why is Mobile Network A13 (cell standby A12) always (and I mean always) the top battery app?

On latest EliteROM 13.0.8.0, MIUI 13. Before I intentionally used the browser more, cell standby was 56% of battery use, the top app.

@Sheist!

Me too but nova beta paid....

The mobile network standby battery consumption is known by pulkit and he is on the way to fix (the latest blobs are responsible)

It seems that this rom is maintained outside this forum.

Making a search on "Pulkit Agarwal" who is the developper of this rom, you will find https://kartik19.optimusmirror.workers.dev/0:/lineage-20.0-20221108-UNOFFICIAL-sweet.zip
This thread gives you visibility into the entire list of drive 1: https://kartik19.optimusmirror.workers.dev/0:search?q=sweet

Dirty flashing works on this ROM; no need to reflash Magisk. (Even with the Mobile Network issue, this ROM is superb with battery usage overnights. Amazing.)

(drive 2 is empty, by the way)

I can recommend the newest sleepy kernel. Since yesterday working best so far.

Post in thread '[SHARED] [OSS] [MIUI] [KERNEL] newest sweet/in quantum, vantom, sleepy, yuki, delta and doraemon kernel' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...lta-and-doraemon-kernel.4398423/post-87842693
Curious that since firmware and kernel are not the same (unless the developer or sharer thinks they are?), we can use this with the MIUI firmware? I assume no additional zips are required, just the one extra flash in recovery? Clearly the kernel zip is much smaller than the firmware zip, so just confirming here. Should the kernel be flashed only after the MIUI firmware, i.e. replacing its kernel?

Today I upgraded to the latest available update of the Lineage OS 20 from 23 March and everything seems to be perfect!

I'm using the Magisk module of the Leica Camera for the best JPG quality results: LeicaCameraMod-4.7.230121.1-GLSPALR.zip

What kernel are you using for better battery life?
Going to experiment in a few days with the latest Sleepy kernel, but first I want to see the default kernel.

In general I'm happy the battery life of the default kernel from the Lineage OS version from February, but strangely despite the good battery I can't see long time in the DEEP SLEEP zone ...

hey lubo777, thanks for the update, just a couple of quick questions...
    1. doesn't pulkit's version of lineage OS already include a Leica cam? or were you using the vanilla build (there was also an untested vanilla build in the telegram group but as far as i can remember right now, Leica cam was present in that too which kinda makes the second qn moot ig)
    2. dyu have the
    Code:
    bq
    or
    Code:
    ln8000
    charging driver?
    3. when you mean the latest sleepy, do you mean the last update by StOrmCatz (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...wl-and-aghisna-kernel.4398423/post-88268153)?

I had flashed the latest update to LineageOS two days back and although i usually immediately shift to the ln8000 version of the Kewl kernel, i thought i'd give the default kernel a chance to prove itself. the initial impressions were good, it was at 0.2%/hr idle drain and all was good but as the battery percentage dropped, the idle drain increased (i don't understand how that works) and at the end of the day, i was at 1% with 4.5 hrs of SOT, and the idle drain at 4.1%/hr (there was no power hungry background processes running)

fastforward to yesterday, i flashed the unofficial sleepy linked above which was recommended by Laptapper and im glad i did

started the day off with a full battery and had a very light day with barely 3 hrs of screen use, but with cellular data switched on most of the time, and the battery is down only by 31% (the battery percentage was pure coincidence 😉 ) and with a really managable idle drain of 0.4%. although im not sure if, like the rom's default kernel, the idle drain will increase as the battery percentage drops, will update soon at the end of the battery cycle, so far so good

im not sure how my battery stats compare to others, but for me, if this rom+kernel combination continues to push this same level of battery consumption, im a peaceful man

Edit: deep sleep is at 89% of screen time at the moment

I'm flashing this LeicaCameraMod-4.7.230121.1-GLSPALR.zip Magisk module because it have much better JPG quality (specially sharpness) than the Leica Cam version which was included in the February version. :)

I don't think that I have the ln8000 charger but I can't find in the Device Info HW+ neither of both drivers ... fast charging is working OK with the default Lineage OS kernel on my phone

This is the latest version available of the Sleepy kernel: https://www.pling.com/p/1959886/
    It supports both charging modules.

    P.S. I found it: bq2597x-charger
    :)

    Hi @Pulkit Agarwal

    thanks for your kind response!

Looking back I can confirm that passing safetynet with official LineageOS I have tested on several devices was never a problem.

Well, sure, it might not come out of the box.

But from security perspective I do not trust any unofficial ROM's.

You are certainly a trustworthy person but I do not know you and so I can't confirm.

From security perspective nobody should be keen on sharing his personal data on an unofficial ROM.

    Never.

Looking on the work you are providing to the community I see that you are an outstanding developer.

If I were you I would make it official as this would contribute significantly to your reputation being a developer and would increase the trust of users for your precious work.
    Hi mate!
Simple solution: the ROM/build fits to what you're looking for, take it. Otherwise, leave it.

This is a kind request to stop talking the dev into things. We all in this forum made the descision to use custom builds. Whether they're named official or unofficial, it is far from possible to act "private" without someone collecting your data.

I am glad, we have this ROM since it is a jump forward to what miui provides. So thanks to pulkit for his awesome work! Please hang on...

    Hi @thxjxs

    Thanks for your answer!

Having LineageOS as an official ROM would lead to higher quality and trust as it is monitored by the LineageOS community.

Using an unofficial LineageOS is risky, as you do not know what the developer included in it.

I have been using official LineageOS on several devices and I can confirm that it is easily possible to flash Google Apps on it and also MIUI camera (via Magisk module).

Furthermore having LineageOS official would enable having LineageOS with MicroG.

MicroG is an alternative to Google Apps and completely open source.

I am favoring LineageOS with MicroG since many years over the proprietary spyware called "Google Apps".

To get a trustworthy and complete open source LineageOS ROM I would highly appreciate if @Pulkit Agarwal would make it official as he already did with Pixel Experience.

Keeping it "unofficial" is somehow suspicious.
Believe me when I tell you that the version of LineageOS I offer is just as good as the official version, if not better (with additional improvements added on top).

The official version doesn't even pass the safetynet, which mine does.
Additionally, my version has over-the-air updates, just like the official version.
my version is also signed with private keys just like the official version.
It's based on the same source code.

    Hi @Laptapper

first of all thanks for sharing the fantastic work from @Pulkit Agarwal !

Do you know the reason why this ROM does not get shared by @Pulkit Agarwal as a development project at XDA-devs?

I am also curious about if LineageOS will ever become official?

The reason why I am asking is because many people would feel more comfortable having an official version as this indicates reliability and security.
the main reason for pulkit not having applied for the official rom maintenance of los sweet is because he prefers to include gapps along with it. Los is usually a vanilla build, completely de-googled, and this would hinder the inclusion of gapps and other subtle features like the included Leica cam which would never make it onto an official Los build (he mentioned it a few times in a telegram channel i believe).
