Thanks for an answer.

I have no such issue, at a guess did you dirty flash? You get no end of strange little quirks sometimes when dirty flashing.

No, i deleated all data, format data and i do a factory reset. Any Idea?

So how can I get the Always On Display to show notifications? I like the clock and it shows battery % but never notifications even though I have Notifications set to On in the theme I choose there, and individual apps are configured right

Hmm, seems to be a permissions issue. Every time I reboot, one of the apps I have tried, Always On Edge, has its permission reset!

I've tried to exclude it from the power management but no joy.

But it's weird how the built in screen-off with the clock is SUPPOSED to show notifications yet does not.
A Google suggest it's a common issue with MIUI / Xiaomi

It's all about permissions indeed. MIUI is very very strict in showing alerts en popups on the startscreen. It's a kind of MIUI layer of strict permissions where few is allowed.

If you still have rotation issue. Flash persist.img from the same base of fastboot rom. This should get it working.

Tried 19.12.24, upgrade from running 9.11.23. Loop back to twrp. I tried uninstall Magisk and redo it again. Still the same.

I tried flash boot.img extract from 19.12.24, still loop back to twrp. Flash again 19.12.24, still loop back to twrp.

I then flash 9.11.23, it boots up fine. I am planning to try upgrade again.

I notice that state in ChangeLog, we are move base to "Stable MIUI" since 12.24 build. Will this make to start from fresh as requirement.

I had the same problem. Solution for me: format Data partition.

Since 9.12.24 cannot write to /Data for some reason.

If you do not format /Data you will get stuck in bootloop.

rudge. Thanks for the confirmation. I don't like to format data unless I have to.

I notice that it boots fine after flash MIUI 11 Stable xiaomi.eu_multi_MI9_V11.0.5.0.QFACNXM_v11-10.zip. I did re-flash 9.12.24, again won't boot. I am going to flash again of latest MIUI 11 Stable and keep it for the timebing.

I am wondering, if it is the "change base to stable" which require "format Data", why it boots fine with the latest stable which is xiaomi.eu_multi_MI9_V11.0.5.0.QFACNXM_v11-10.zip.

I was hopping that if this stable boots up fine, I can then refresh the ROS 12.24 build. Not in the case.

I won't be upgrading to the latest version of Revolution ROM (9.12.24). Formatting my phone's data just to upgrade to version 9.12.24 is a ridiculous requirement.

However you like it. But otherwise I think it would be your latest ROS version....no updates for you then.

I would recommend titanium backup. The directory of the backup is best kept on your pc/laptop and you are ready to go! Root is needed (magisk canary).

The ROS version 19.12.24 is stable and smooth. I find it worth the effort.

Edit: also as far as I can understand from now on OTA updates should be working for new ROS roms to come. So that means quick and easy updating from now on.

Which Gapps version did you install? You got to take aroma I guess. Maybe you can also check if all needed permissions are granted. Settings-->apps

Didn't install any gapps, never done with revos. I just thought it wasn't needed because everything works. Should i install any specific version?
Btw, if i delete cache for Google app and then i record enroll "ok google" again, it works for a little time only. Strange issue, I'm not able to solve.
Also, all permissions given.
Thank you for any advice...

I intend to share that there is this custom ROM

    https://os.revtechs.me/descargas-miui/

I dont really know much about it. But it's a custom ROM, it's not mine, hence I'm sharing it in discussion/news section

Anyone have experience on this ROM? How's it any different from let's say Xiaomi.eu( which I'm currently running)

    Installation guide:
    unlocked bootloader
    - installed Mauronofrio unofficial twrp from fastoboot and command line, found here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/development/recovery-unofficial-twrp-xiaomi-mi-9-t3905825)
    - rebooted on recovery mode, holding volume up and power button
    - Did a full wipe in TWRP and formatted data partition to remove encryption
    - rebooted in recovery mode again, to remount data partition now without encryption.
    - transferred RevolutionOS to internal storage (twrp has its own mtp mode to permit transfer by usb-pc).
    - flashed Revolution.zip, from internal storage
    - wiped system, dalvik and cache.
    - Reboot

Using this rom for a week now. Great stand-by time, better then eu. And more de-bloated then the eu version

    Questions to ROS:

1| Fingerprint and AI button working?
2| What's the difference now to global? What is missing? Which features are added?

...in two days I can unlock my bootloader and I have to choose a recovery and a rom.

Edit: Question concerning recovery & rooting. User ChingghisKhan wrote down some instructions in the TWRP-forum since he had a lot of troubles to root his device. Can anyone who is on ROS confirm his instructions or is there anything different if I wanna flash ROS at the end?
AI Google assistant works for me.
If miui search comes up then freeze app with TI pro, then you can change AI button in settings.

ROS is pretty much debloated, but still has mi cloud and security, quick ball etc.

I used this how-to but used ROS latest: https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/how-to/guide-how-flashed-twrp-xiaomi-eu-rom-t3912952

I used siankatabg twrp, works fine with encryption.

    Basically.
Fasboot mode, connect phone via USB, type 'fastboot devices' to check connected.
    Then 'fastboot flash recovery twrp.img'.
    Disconnect phone.
Reboot via vol up + power into twrp.
    Wipe then format data.
    Reboot again into twrp.
    Mount mtp, sideload rom.
    Install ROM.zip
    Reboot system, set up.
    Download latest magisk 19.3
    Reboot recovery install magisk.zip
    Reboot system, profit.
