I figure they'd push a blank or messed up bootloader since that would really be the only easy way to kill it. I looked into the ota zip but didn't find much yet. Good to see someone found something, I'm curious about how they decided to do it.
Guys it's a serial kill switch.It's programmed into the boot loader.It's program to kill serial (blank) thru serial (blank).If your serial matches any of the one visits is going to kill your screwed.You need to change serial number,but it might not be enough there all types of hardware identification numbers that tells them which were recalled.All this was registered the minute you signed up for the recalled.Good luck!
Evidently you don't understand that these companies HAVE TO do this, by law, even if they find it completely "unappealing." There are strict laws concerning product recalls, and so the company has to eat the cost whether they like it or not. That's the price they pay for releasing a product with problems that led to a recall in the first place.
They don't' get to NOT do it, so how appealing it is to them is irrelevant.
