My phone have 3 hours SOT on performance mode, and 3.5 hours SOT on smart battery mode.
I am on stock (7.1) with greentify and jovoc battery tweak.
Lately, I do a battery check using USB capacity tester (KEWEISI).
Charging my phone from 0% to 100%.
And the result is 1580 mhA :((
This explains two facts:
1. While so many people confirm that Axon 7 have good battery, and somes complain about terrible battery recently.
2. AccuBattery is not really "accurate" tool to check your battery (the app report that the phone have 2700 mhA left).

Still, I wonder what had toasted my battery so much - quick charging ? overnight charging?
Beside, I notice shadow on navigation bar area (on full white screen, the navigation bar area is more white, the rest is little yellow
______
Edited: After replaced the battery, SOT is 6 hours

My two previous HTC phones had huge battery issues after the first year. I treated them bad in this regard, charging very often (rarely let them go under 50%), and I let them charge over night.

I am doing a better job with my Axon now, I never let it charge over night, I always keep it between 20% - 80%, and I avoid using quick charge if possible (I prefer charging it at my PC, slow and steady) quick charge is causing the battery to heat a bit and that is causing a lot of damage over time.

Indeed 3H SOT is very bad, even with my HTC One M9 that was abused pretty badly in this regard I had 5 - 6 hours SOT, and the battery on it was lower capacity to begin with.

And about the yellow spot on screen, my M9 had that too, just a bit under the notification bar on the right side. I assume that there's something in that area that heats up during charging? I noticed that if the phone was cool that spot on the screen was barely noticeable, and when the phone was charging and hot, the spot would become very dark and noticeable.

As @rzarectha I use the same tricks (20/85 %) and slow USB charge (If I've got the time) and my SOT after 19 months is pretty good.

It depends, but with a medium-heavy use mostly I am over 5/6 hours (with a good 4g connection).

It depends of the way you use your smartphone and of how good is your connection. But if I use my Axon lightly, with the night mode activated when I sleep, I can hold it about 1.5 day without a charge.

Your battery is a consumable and it can be replaced. Take advantage of this and replace it.
Fact is there is literally nothing you can do to prolong the life of such item as a battery, that is still a mystery to the modern science.

@tamahouse, today, after your first post, I've tested my phone by a complete discharge/charge round with Accubattery and I can confirm you that the results are not reliable. The estimated capacity of the battery is completely wrong.

@tamahouse @JLLE May I ask how you guys are using Accubattery? I tested with someone else w/ an USB thingy and it reported about 50 mA less which is much better than what you're saying.

To get a good reading from Accubattery you have to make at least 3 readings with the phone on standby. If you use it while it's charging, the phone will use current, so the current that gets to the battery is way less, and you get weird readings.

I've used it thrice and I got 2400 twice and 2350 the last time. You can see clear outliers on the graph when you charge it with the screen on

As I said, I've used Accubattery since this morning. I've made several readings and here is the result for battery capacity.

I purchased mine from this seller on eBay and it's been fine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Batter...TE-A-A2017U-/352253103538?hash=item5203ebcdb2 Use this video as a guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqivSM0NFsc&t=77s. It took me around 40 minutes start to finish.
In the video, when attach the back with the screen, the guy dont use any kind of glue, he only use 3M tape to stick the grills to the phone. What did you use to reseal the phone? Glue or 3M tape or just close the phone like that?

The body of the phone snaps together with no glue. I used double sided tape, 3mm wide , it is doing a great job holding the grills on.

How did your SOT change?

I'm on the she honestly, the battery life right now is very upsetting, I want to buy a Xiaomi budget phone just because I won't have this kind of problems. But my last chance would be changing battery.
In my case the phone went from a little below 3 hours to 5.45 SOT. It was at 58% capacity when I installed the new cell and now it's reading 97% with Accubattery.
