Well, I do have a very great steam collection but I dont have the proper pc hardware to stream them to the shield. (Im sure I could through using some app like splashtop gamepad thd) the price, not sure if the shield is really worth the 349$ price tag but then again, ive bought an ipod touch 4g with 32gb for 299.99 which had terribly outdated hardware at release so I dont really have ground there. Im big with emulators and the gamepad makes this phenominal for emulators. If this was rooted and cwm was flashed on, you could possible gain access to the OUYA appstore adding a whole new library of games. Theres many android games I enjoy playing on my nexus 7 such as GTA 3/vice city and shadowgun thd which would be much greater with a gamepad. Is it worth the 349.99 price tag given my position? Pretty much the only down side would be not having pc game access (not natively anyways)

well for me the steam streaming is a big part of why i want one. but i also want one for some other reasons.. such as the amazing amount of power packed into a tegra 4, the fact that i don't already have a tablet, and the fact that nvidia rarely disappoints. (and its just too cool of a device to pass up).

my main concern is that i hope nvidia gets alot of android devs onboard to program there games to the nvidia controller. games such as Ravensword, and asphalt.

don't know if this helps any but just my two cents.

Quite a few android games do support gamepads (have a feeling asphalt might, the GTA games definitely do as do dead trigger and shadow gun) and should work with the shield already.

I'm quite interested in loading a shield up with emulators. Be interesting to see how well dolphin for android works on the tegra 4.

asphalt im almost certain won't have support (not right away anyways). no other gameloft games have gamepad functionality either unless you count support for gameloft's own gamepad. I'm also not sure I need it as I already have a nexus 7 tablet which is suprisingly easy to slip into a pocket. I am a gamer though so I feel the need to be on the cutting edge and even with the 1.7ghz overclock my nexus 7 still feels quite stressed on certain games. Dolphin will definitly be great but i feel it wont flourish on nvidia shield as i believe tegra 4 lacks open gls 3.0 which is something snapdragon has.

Here's a nice offer: Tell me the full name for Asphalt as listed in the Play Store, and I'll load it up, tell you how it is. :)

Also, I'll try loading the Dolphin emulator. I've played a little with emulators on the device, but didn't have much luck with an emulator that would play the one PSOne game I actually had the ISO for (Thrill Kill).

I think it is just asphalt 7 or something like that.

the dolphin team i believe are using super Mario sunshine as a test ISO. However so far no devices have been able to emulate at more than 1/3 speed.

Not much luck with Asphalt 7, since it crashes on the infamous "Checking License" loop. :( Trying some hacks to get around it, but it takes a while, plus I actually have *work* to do. :D

And sadly, in regards to Dolphin emulator, it doesn't like Super Mario Sunshine at all. :( It doesn't even load it. I grabbed the only one on the Google Play Store I could find, so it's also possible that I'm not using one that actually *works* with the game. So if others have links to something better (or an APK), be glad to keep trying.
