To be honest, MIU looks great their attempt to copy the looks of IOS created a very good looking and interesting hybrid.
I'm also not interested in following the CM path, already had that in the days of my HTC Desire HD and don't miss the constant flashing and reflashing, it's fun for a while but then you just need a stable every day phone.
If I could have an AOSP on the mi4c to pair with my N9 would be great, to be honest I hate different interfaces on the devices, if not maybe debloating would be the way to go.
For what i've seen so far it's full of Xiaomi crap and cloud stuff... if you manage to do it and make a step by step guide

:D Let me know..I might follow the foot steps...

There you can generate your own ROM and disable all bloatware. The Xiaomi apps aren't just crap though, a lot of it is actually nice so I'd be careful removing too much! Just removing the xiaomi framework (cloud, mi account etc.) and the bug reporting app should do it, the rest is just a music player and stuff.

The smiui rom is great for performance too, got 54k antutu when I flashed it :).

The touch reactivity is no longer an issue with updated roms or the official Chinese rom with latest update. I'm sticking with the official stable Chinese rom for the moment since I can read Chinese. :)

My Mi4c arrived :) very smooth compared to the Mi4i i had.
My screen is a little brighter at the top, but it was the same on my Mi4i.
Just want to know now if i have Sony or Samsung camera sensor...

Just a heads up about something I found out this afternoon:
If you download the google camera app from the playstore you'll be able to record in 4k.

I'm not joking, here's the proof in attachment.

Tried your suggestion today, installed a a version without the Xiaomi framework and bloatware, apparently most of the stuff is removed but Mi account option is still there.
Can you remove this Mi account or it's impossible to remove?

Worth mention is that all the AnTuTu benchmarks I did with the old ROM got score from 40k to 46k and with the new ROM i'm getting consistent scores above 50k.

By the way be carefull with the http://www.smiui.net/ site it's fulll of popups.

Ah I guess you can't remove that then, but at least you get the performance/battery boost from disabling their framework. Yeah my score was 54k when I just flashed the ROM and at least 50+ after installing apps (2gb version)! Meaning it's consistently performing better than LG G4 :good:
