Should Samsung give exchange offer for Note 1 to Note 2
What you think:
Customer: Hey samsung, exchange my used note 1 for the brand new shiny note 2!
Samsung: Sure! We love losing money! We also have the solution for world peace!

What samsung thinks:
Customer: Hey samsung, exchange my used note 1 for the brand new shiny note 2!
Samsung: F*** you

This post actually made me laugh ... hehehe

Maybe they could do it for the devices bought this year + an additional fee. Samsung could then sell the used Notes (but in good conditions) back for a profit and would do marvels for their brand image as they would be seen as the only company in this field to do it, they would be a safe company to buy products from as people would not have to worry about buying a device and then see the new model arriving 1 month later.

It would certainly be an interesting idea, but I am not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.

Shops/carriers may offer you a free/cheaper upgrade if you exchange in your old original Note, but Samsung sure as hell won't. They're a business and don't want to lose money. Besides, the Note 2 won't be out for a while yet.

It's much cheaper to manufacture the parts (they sell to most mobile manufacturers) then to do reverse logistics.

Basic principles of selling. If you keep the price cheap or discount hugely then most people will feel either the product is cheap or has a lot of issues
