How u put the text on the bottom dock using Stock Launcher?
When you hide the navigation dock by enabling it in Settings>System>System Navigation>Three Key Navigation then automatically text appears. Hope this helps

I really want to use the gesture navigation too but I hate Huawei's implementation of it, especially with the back gesture. You should give this app called Fluid NG a try, I feel that does a better job at gesture navigation.

Must be having a blonde moment...I have (extensively) searched Huawei Themes app and found some (not many) nice icon sets BUT cannot figure out how @lllnutslll or @tobias14 managed to install icon packs on STOCK launcher. I have been using Nova for years, so the concept is not foreign to me, but I can't figure out how to install icon packs outside Huawei Themes.
Just to be clear, I want to keep using the stock launcher as I ran into problems with Nova.

Then apply the theme from stock Themes app

I assume I can uninstall the icon pack after conversion if I don't care about getting updates and converting again.

I tried converting an icon pack but the Google icons and WhatsApp didn't change. Anyone else with this problem?
Apply as a theme under My themes and not as icon pack under Customize
