Yes I had mine sim unlocked 2nd week from a xda user. They don't charge but I was happy to donate to them as well. I'll link the thread here once I find it again. Was originally posted in a OnePlus thread.

I think it really depends on the rep you get.

Back when I get the Note 9 on T-Mobile (2 yr bill credits), after a week I tried using the Unlock App as I was travelling internationally.

It didn't work so I had to call into T-Mobile customer service.

The rep was able to unlock my phone and my wife's phone even though it was only on the network for about a week.

I don't have the unlock app on my T-Mobile LG V60 device like on the other devices how you unlock it through the app I don't have that. In order to unlock this device I need to hook it up to a laptop I can't do it by at eight digit code right? I'm willing to pay to have an unlocked do you know a place that would unlock it and how much do they usually cost to charge some unlock the t-mobile LG V60 thinQ device. Thanks In advance!!!

Congrats. Glad to hear it. May I ask if you were postpaid or prepaid?

I'm thinning of buying it from T-Mobile and adding them to unlock it (well, having my uncle do it since I don't live in the US) but it'd be easier for me with prepaid (I figure topping it off with a hundred dollars in refills is comparable to two months of the cheapest postpaid plan and no contract to cancel). Plus the online unlocking service I saw was 85 bucks and I don't know how reliable those are.

I have postpaid. It all really comes down to the person that you get when you call T-Mobile you can get somebody that won't do it are you get somebody to do it no problem I've never had my phone paid off any of my phones and I've had a lot of phones probably 15 to 20 different phones that I bought through T-Mobile on payments and I've always had them all unlocked within a month if you need any help or anything you can send me a message all right take care good luck my friend.

Sorry to revive an old post, but I bought an lg v60 that's on tmobile and it's not network unlocked. It does have the network unlock app in the settings tho. I apparently have a tmobile account, but I don't have service and the device isn't on my account at all

Go to Settings, Networks, Mobile Networks, and finally Network Unlock. There is no longer an app.
