Anyone else can confirm this? Unlocked bootloader needed or not?
XT1097
Locked Bootloader
Android Version 5.1
LPE23.32-14
Kernel 3.4.42

Didn't work for me, just rebooted the phone but no root. Apparently it should work , it seems to be based on the exploit CVE-2014-3153

Root only stays till reboot.

Edit: for fear of I dunno wth this app is using to root the device....I performed a hard reset.

I think it only stays till you reboot phone. SU appears after you get root access, however once you reboot your phone, the root doesn't stay?

KingRoot - Temporary root for Att running lollipop

I obtained root using kingroot on my att xt1097, it was temporary, about 5 minutes. Has anyone use kingroot? I root on the first try, then I thought I did something wrong so I tried it again and it didn't work... Tried it like 15 more times and it worked again tried to install binaries with supersu and rebooted and lost it again. Repeated the process again and keep losing the root. Any ideas?

Yeah, ATT variant. It was only temporary though. Dunno what it was doing / using which exploit to gain root access though. Lol, I don't really trust this app. Tbh, I got a little paranoid for awhile...

Sent from my Lumia 9000 from that XDA third party app (which is better than the Android app)

Did you try SuperSU me on the playstore to remove the included superuser it installed?

Even thought root is gone after reboot, will actions taken during root remain? Such as uninstalling at&t bloatware while rooted?

I don't even see a "root" button when I install and open app...
