I had to read a lot, mostly from FInixNOver's great tutorial, then I
extract the proper files from UK ROM (KovskyKitchen) and unsigned, edited, repacked and signed every DLL, merging all the resources one by one, but it was worth the time: I have learned a lot and I am very proud of the final product, whatsmore, I even learned how to make some new icons of my own

Here's what I used:

Now I really need to go to sleep, hope all of you enjoy this skin, and please feel free to use/edit/mod any icon or DLL: I even prepared a developers pack with all the source files to share

Ah yes, I've seen that guide and soon decided I didn't have enough time for it.

I'm using almost the same tools as you are, except that I use Photoshop and non-trial (non-legal) versions of PE Explorer and CE Cab Mgr.

I think tr41n means the enter password on startup is changed to the manila one and he and also me prefere the xperia one(and you also did you said in your last post). I attached a phote of what it is like now.
Btw. the call aplication in the start menu is still the xperia one it is just the password at startup.

For the alarm signal. Everything seems to be dutch very nice.

Also the start button icon is still a htc(it's tsowen I know) but the xperia icon would be nicer. It would more fit your original skin what got a very nice se icon in the left corner.

I haven't installed any skins or whatever so it should be the normal xperia skinds but this is what i get after installing the dutch version you posted yesterday.(screens attached)

First skin is the pincode page at startup(should be the normal one but i get the manila one after installing the application)

Second screen is how the dial section looks like(just normal)

Third screen is what the call list is like(I painted a red line around the changed icons)


Hope you can sort this out. If you need any further information I would be pleased to help you.

I have temporarily removed the DUTCH version but I promisse we will solve this today together

No it is very hard to copy ROM files from Windows, the easies way is to dump your ROM, but you don't need to dump the ROM again since I already did it, just download my developers package and use these DLLs, edit them to your personal preferences

Here is the list of icons and respective files:

Thank you for your reply, apologies for the lateness in my thank you.

I guess this is where I was going wrong, although I am familiar with editing system files I am unaccustomed to the "Mobile" platforms and the inherent problems with getting the files from the devices. I did not think to assume that a ROM dump would be the easiest way to obtain the files. Somewhat of a practice of mine (for security) has been always to use a copy of the actual file in use made by my own hand, in order to ensure correct versions and what not, again, a downfall in my methodology in this case.

Where might I find your development package, I assume it will vary depending on release, as I am now on R2AA_10? (going back to my paranoia concerning file versions.)

Angelusz' "AnX1 Tsowen Taskbar - SE Mods V1.2" is blackstone-based, shouldn't change your horrible blackstone dialer

NEW FILES UP on first post:

- IMPROVED SEX1cons version 1.2, english and international

- NEW STD1cons version 1.2 UP (same icons, no Sony Eircsson shizz )

- DUTCH language MUI file (complement for the "international" version, just copy to windows folder and will add the notification bell->clock icon for dutch users ) - look at the third post

No Icons

Just incase anybody wants the Start/Wait mods as in gtrabs work but without the changed icon set, here is the modified version I made and am using.

Please let me know gtrab is you are opposed to me using bits of your work or if you would prefer i present them differently.

All credits to gtrab, i merely made this dll without the iconset, because I didn't like it. (I'm a perfectionist and minimalist) and the new icons are too "loud".

You know the drill, install sdkcerts.cab, then copy this dll to windows folder to overwrite, restart immediately.

P.S. Included sdkcerts.cab cause it was really hard for me to find, more places it's linked the better.

Thanks gtrab, those icons are staying forever. As for the volume I don't like TouchFLO3D style mods much as the Blackstone Youtube player cooked my X1 video player abilites.

But so far I love it! Those icons rock, and I'm usually one who frowns on mods. Very professional and classy.

Just out of curiousity can you send a screenshot of your X1's today screen. I wanna see what your working with.

I have added a copy of my No Icon shellres.192 with the black wait from the post you requested. I'm sure gtrab will do the same with his set that has the custom icons if he has time. If not I may do it for you if I have the time.

Attached to my previous post (#53), stock icons and everything just the wait icon and start button changed.

honestly speaking, I find the new iconset too detail and becomes hard to see when it's shown up in the device (the granularity doesn't show up in a 3.2" screen and in fact makes the icon look bad)
