Skype for WP 7 - sign the petition!

Several days ago Microsoft had discontinued Skype for Windows Phone 7.
This is the official notification from them

If you still g i v e_a_s h i t about your WP7 phone, pease sign a petition to force MS dudes to enable Skype protocols for Windows Phone 7

Here in India they are still selling Windows Phone 7 models such as Lumia 800 and 900. This is a crappy decision by Microsoft and they've got to change it back!!

No more Skype for WP7, I really doubt MS will listen our begging. I must say I am very disapointed. I planed to use my Lumia 710 for many year still, but not working now without Skype.

So, is there anything to do? I have a custom rom installed, will there be a version that works (rooted) or how MS blocked Skype from our devices?

I faced to the same problem and make a decision to buy wp8.1 device. This issue with skype is the signal that it is time to do it now.

Heh... I have now both Titan and old good Leo with WM 6.5.3 on board in my vehicle. Titan is in internet sharing mode and for calls. Leo w/o SIM is for skype via wifi from Titan Because WM old skype still works like a charm

So... Skype works just fine in old Windows Mobile. How about porting that version to WP7, is that how difficult? Opera for WM has already been ported to WP7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1385071

The problem of old skype is - several tabs in the UI - not possible to port this to WP as it was with Opera.
