Slim6 port for R1-HD **CAMERA_Almost_FIXED**

I just finished the same porting process for @vampirefo 's LineageOS 13, it has few bugs at the moment but the camera does work. I will work on the bugs then put up an other thread for that one too.

I appears the bugs I had were from the Gapps already installed during slimrom. Bugs went away after full system wipe.

If you are wanting a more updated TWRP download my Latest Life_Max TWRP, unpack it, replace Life_Max kernel with R1HD kernel repack and you should be good to go.

Next fixed version is out. v3.5
*camera is still sometimes failing to connect. need to reboot to get camera back online.
*currently testing v3.6 and so far has not crashed, but hoping to fix video before release.
*Now testing v3.7 back video is recording but front is not (no selfie video)


With cm snap(stock camera) removed and open camera in its place camera has been more reliable.
Microphone has been fixed.
Sim 1 tested and phone, message, and data all work as should.
GPS working

You should get FreedomPop from eBay, I paid $8 for Sim card, I got it so I can test dual SIM on my phone.

1st Sim FreedomPop 2nd Sim straight talk, seems to work well for me.

FreedomPop is free limited text, calls, internet more than enough to test roms.

I don't know, got mine from eBay, mine was already activated, just needed to contact seller after I got Sim card to login.

Anyway works good for me, easy way to test dual sim.

Here is the one I got, it is ever a little cheaper than I paid.

Of course the deal you found might be better, I don't know either should work I would think.

I have audio on v3.7

but do not have installed spotify or gapps.

videos on some websites play and have sound, but you tube on browser does not play and radio station websites that stream live do not play.

When Bluetooth is connected streaming audio works. But still not wired headphone or loudspeaker

V 4.6 is uploading. Audio is working again in streams, without gapps youtube videos are pixelated but audio plays. Installing gapps now to verify if youtube app works

I am able to get videos in the app untill those YouTube ads try to play. Then the ad does not play and no more videos play untill I reboot.
Might be my ad block server on needs adjusting or still problem in ROM.

Update:
My other phone plays right through the ads so, it is still the ROM.
tested streaming with play music and that played for few songs then stopped( no output) just like youtube. and system sounds also quit. Interesting that when that happened the camera also quit. because it was supposed to make shutter sound it hung up.
I am hopeful that if this audio issue is ironed out , then so will the camera crash issue.


more info:

when audio stops playing through speaker both in play music and YouTube, If connect to Bluetooth headset they will continue and play normal in headset.

UPDATE:

I was going to take a break from this for a while but, bad weather today kept me inside. So I started over from a raw un-modified /system from the donor device.

And the camera is not connecting, (expected) but the audio server does not seem to be crashing like it is on the current x-4.7

So I have been trying to split the edits to find minimum needed for camera without "borking" the audio.

I expect soon. But still far away, there was over 150 *.so files just dumped in the first time to get camera working.

I have the first one installed on my r1 HD Blu, the version x.3.3 and the only problem I have is the camera is not stable and keep crashing, not that i use the camera much. This Slim ROM that have been ported is very interesting and I love that it is a lighter ROM then the original stock. I downloaded the ROM the first day you posted it hoping my r1 HD Blu was not bore no more. What in interest to ask is, will you one day or later add a custom kernel overclock (1.4ghz+) in CPU and GPU?? Slim6 i think, looks lighter then the Lineage port you make on the other thread.

I do not know how to , so I would say no. I just experiment with code and file swapping.
Custom kernel will take a real dev.

Oh ya, for x.3.3 that I'm currently using. The mic have problems, it barely works(Just realized). The speaker sometimes is a little off.

looks like the files replaced to make microphone work are the cause of the speaker dropping out.

**when I swap these files with ones from V21 the microphone works. But after some time the speaker stops working, at the audio server level. (example: 5 second audio clip shows it completed but no sound came out. Then connect to bluetooth and the sound of the clip then comes out from the bluetooth device)

When I leave these files as they are built from slim then audio sound is stable but the mic does not work.


hopefully there is another way to get mic working.

Uploading version 5.0

Audio still dropping out causing videos to also stop playing.
So far only thing found that has caused the change in audio stopping was changing "/system/lib/hw/audio.primary.mt6737m.so"

if i leave the file from original slim rom, the audio stays working and microphone does not work.

if i swap the file from v21 microphone works butaudio quits after few minutes, but the audio will still play through bluetooth.

I do not understand what it could be yet. The same file swapped out in lineageOS 13 got microphone working but did not mess up the audio playing.

I don't want to abuse your time, the only rom I can install on this Blu R1 HD phone is the "Slim--6.0.1-R1-HD-Port-x-3.5.zip" no matter what I do.
All the other roms including the new Slim 5.0 and others LineageOS etc FAILED to boot.
If you know a way to totally wipe the phone to nothing and reload a factory firmware from fastboot I really appreciate.
