Questions

After going to create this thread I've collected some questions from Russian side already. So here they are:

• One guy on mako asks if there is charging LED indication for CM control. I do not have mako, so not sure if it is there, and if it isn't, that could be useful to add.
• The same guy asks if there is a possibility to add show/hide navbar via swipe at expanded desktop? Or does it exist already?..
• Also on mako one user is interested if there is multi-user entering menu?..

Complaints

From the same Russian segment I have the following complaints for now (regarding maguro):

• 
  [*]No swipe on Russian kbd even with additional dictionaries;
• Connection speed is less than e.g. on xylon. Measures via speed test:
  Xylon
  3g - in 5.5 mb/s, out 1 mb/s
  WiFi - in 10.1 MB/s, out 0.80 mb/s
  Slim
  3g - in 1.5 mb/s, out 0.50 mb/s
  WiFi - in 2.5 mb/s, out 0.25 mb/s
• slowdowns when starting many apps with stock lean kernel, did not happen on stock and CM (apps: vkontakte, opera, instagram, internal browser, into the dead, gallery - or sometimes just happen);
  [*]just heard that one guy on maguro lost Phone.apk after full wipe update from 2.5 to 3.

Could anyone please suggest/advise about that?..

First complaint is solved via installing the full IME addon.

I haven't heard of any speed problems.
Neither for traffic nor for opening apps.

One user reported as well that he lost his phone.apk. He said he managed to fix it but never tolled me how when I asked him.

I recommend that you add this to redmine. It's the best way to deal with feature requests. I'll reopen the one for the charging LED.

One user reported as well that he lost his phone.apk. He said he managed to fix it but never tolled me how when I asked him.

Got the reply from that guy, he said solved via cleaning /system at TWRP file manager (cannot explain, how and why >_<)

What is "it's"?

If you mean Slim, for Sony it exists only for Xperia S (nozomi).

[Q] Slimbean 4.2.2 on S3 - reboot on camera/torch

hi,

after trying several ROMs and nearly bricking the device, I finally ended up with the Slimbean 4.2.2.build.3 ROM. great work! would like to stick with it, but there are some issues:

1) when starting the camera app (or activating the torch via widget), the S3 resets & reboots without any notice. other hardware like wifi, gps, phone and bluetooth works without problems.

2) when looking at the http://slimroms.net/index.php/slim-bean-features page I noticed that some ASS settings like "OTA" and "performance" don't show up on the "settings" screen. the latter is desperately missed since I'd like to tweak it to get maximum battery life.

3) the osmand app doesn't show up in the playstore, but I assume that's because osmand is not yet "released" for 4.2.2. will check with the osmand developers.

regarding 1): what can I do to get all necessary info to you? torch & camera missed big

1) Are you sure you wiped before flashing and flashed our addons. Also did you flash picassa or photoshere?

2) Outdated. Google "4.2 developer options"

3) Again sure your using our addons?

some days ago initially installed just the gapps zip, today also the aroma_aio without success.

then decided to start all over again:

- wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (possibly failed, PhilZ not able to mount /ext-sdcard)
- re-downloaded and installed Slim-i9300-4.2.2.build.3-OFFICIAL.zip

short test: starting camera app --> reboot

- prevented wizard from syncing everything from my gmail account back to the device.

UPDATE:

- although nothing synced back after factory reset, my contacts are still there
- still not finding osmand in playstore
- and worse: also not finding Move!Bike Computer in playstore. until now this has oviously been synced back to the device from my gmail account.

is there anything else I should wipe manually from /sdcard?



- install aio_aroma_v1.2.zip: google core apps, other apps, picasa, clock widget, calendar, playstore (all toggleable). left out everything else since I'd like to keep it "slim".
- reboot: wizard upgrades apps.
- apps/camera: reboot (((

was running energyHD 2.0 before, both camera and ICS camera (and torch) were working properly.

any ideas?

settings/backup&reset/factory data reset

or something in the cwm, other than mentioned above? got PhilZ Touch 4 (CWM base version: 6.0.2.8) installed.

It's an option in the recovery don't know where exactly it is in CWM.

no luck. factory reset, wiped /system, wiped cache partition.
installed slimbean.zip and AIO aroma, then reboot.

camera still causes reboot.

another observation: picasa doesn't show up on the S3, not in apps or elsewhere. should it show up?

I'm about to give up. I see two more possible solutions:
- something else to format under mounts&storage? (/sdcard imho no good idea since it contains the ROM to be flashed)
- anyone here willing to check some internal logs or whatever is there?

UPDATE:

installation of RootBox-JB-i9300-V3.9.1.zip failed ("some symlinks failed. installation aborted")
installation of pa_i9300-3.10-11MAR2013-gokussjx.zip (paranoid android) succeeded. camera & flashlight work.

yes. even tried to install from the single Photosphere.zip file.

btw: see update in my post above. PA works, but would like to stick with slimbean since it has the best design/appearance I've seen so far, fancy it very much.
