Slow Typing

I originally had the Verizon model and definitely experienced keyboard lag ranging from slow as SH*T to hiccupy. I switched over to AT&T and have had a completely keyboard lag free experience so far. Not sure what carriers everyone is on or if that even matters but it seems like it's hit or miss. My brother has an AT&T model as well and has experience zero keyboard lag too.

Does anyone have problems where multiple key presses happen and you get excessive letters when typing. I posted this on another forum with the errors left to show.

"Ssso the definite symptoms off my problem is the excessive letterrr input when typing. Iv even left the errors in this paragraph for a example.

Nextt obvious one is scrolling issues in menus or webpages.

So if anyone is experiencing these two most common symptoms let me know. No doubt mine is likely defective and will be getting a replacement.

It could still be software problem yett and because off how new the phone is, it may not bbe quite public yet."

Clearly you can see how ffustratingg thiss can be. Kinda taaaakingg the sting out of the fun off having a new toy.

Yes same here, switched to Google Keyboard. good now

I'm using the stock keyboard on AT&T Note 7. Most of the time it responds instantly. But twice in the five days I've had the phone, it's gotten into a mode where the keyboard lags. The characters still appear immediately when typed. But there's a delay in the sound and vibration feedback--I'll type 3 or 4 characters with no feedback, and then there will be a delayed rapid burst of the 3 or 4 clicks and vibrations. When the phone is in this mode, I also notice scrolling lag.

Closing all apps doesn't resolve the problem. Rebooting fixes it, though. Since it's only happened twice, I have not yet identified what triggers the problem.

Guys, I know what made it slow. Try and clean your clipboard and see if it improves. Worked on mine.

I had identified that as long as there is media in my clipboard, it will slow down the keyboard performance. Delete all the items in your clipboard and let me know if this fix your Note7.

I, too, have this issue. I signed up for the site merely to mention this fact and see what the issue may be.

I am Verizon and have the latest update they provided.

I started with SK Neural and it was ABYSMAL. Switched to SK Beta and it is twice as fast as Neural (which is to say 10x's too slow still!!!). May try that other keyboard (that starts with a C and has a bunch of "o"s in it, have to look up the name).

Thanks for this thread and the info it holds. I appreciate it and hope to help if I may.

Same here with the Samsung kb. SwiftKey is a little better but still not as fast as it is on my note 4. I am running custom rom on my 4 though.

Thanks for the heads up. It's a small update, after 5 mins of use, I can notice that the phone is a lot snappier. Fingers crossed it's a proper solution.
Do these updates typically come to US carriers ? Not sure if they're pushed directly from Samsung or the carrier. I have the AT&T version

This was pushed today to the unlocked international version. I'm sure the US carriers will get the update eventually but as usual, it will take longer.
Always buy the unlocked version. Never from a carrier.
