I experienced the same problem. Tried Samsung/Swiftkey keyboards on Nova launcher and experienced a massive lag. Tried both beta and latest version of swiftkey but still not any better.
Try the above solution, it works for me.
(Based on Google keyboard and Chrooma with Nova launcher)

When i now got my Note 7 it was fine, i had to factory reset to do the trick to get google now enabled in my country, and since that this issue has cropped up, and its very annoying. My factory note 4 with latest official marshmallow build flys circles around my note 7 in the typing department...........need a fix for this issue. I've tried everything in the thread thus far barring another factory reset, some made it better, but its still there.

Easy fix...

1) Use Nova Launcher

2) Use Google Keyboard

3) Disable apps and settings you don't use.

I get zero typing lag on mine.
Easy fix...
Sell the phone and buy a better cheaper new one...
What are you talking about guy's...this is so expensive phone and so powerful that it supposed to work PERFECTLY....

I'm having the same problem with my 7 (Verizon). I used the stock keyboard for about a week and finally got fed up with the crazy slow auto correct. Switched to Fleksy and it was great for a couple hours. Then that one started hardcore lagging. I've used several keyboards since then and it's the same with all of them. After installation everything is good for an hour or two and then they just bog down. It's to the point where I have to type very deliberately and slowly or it just has a fit. In fact the whole phone has gotten pretty slow in the 2 weeks I've had it. Battery life is crap too, only half a day with minimal usage. Can't say I'm impressed with the device as a whole. I've cleared the cache but it didn't so anything. I'll probably have factory reset but having to do that after 2 weeks is nonsense.

Edit: Just read through the thread again and saw the clear clipboard suggestion. Did that, still super laggy.

Possible lag fix...

Hey there!

Is anyone having issues when typing? The lag on my phone is insane whenever I type no matter what application I use. Just upgraded to the new software too, same issue.

Developer Options>Disable All Animations>Force GPU Rendering...

Tried both seperately still had lag...together this seems to have fixed my issues...everything flies now. Maybe too early to tell if it's a permanent fix, but give it a shot. Let me know if it works for you too.

Update...I mean...Holy ****!! This thing flies now!! Full page of scrolldit.com fully loaded scrolling faster than my finger can keep up with...like liquid lightning butter smooth hyperdrive speed (LLBSHS)...that's what I'm talking about!

This worked almost instantly for me. No more lag! I had almost given up finding a solution.

I think when you set animations to off for Window, Transition, and animation scale, you are effectively disabling all animations.

Is disabling all animations the same as setting animations to off for Window, Transition and Animation scale?

I agree the word needs to be spread. So far for me it is still working perfect. Still zero lag at all. I haven't tried any gaming yet and I will try to report back with a battery life update to see how that's affected, if at all.

Sweet!! Yeah...24 hours later and everything is still flying!! Glad there's a solution that works for others as well! Spread the good news.

My Note 7 runs smooth as butter most of the time. And typing is fine most of the time. But on webpages with a lot of content, typing is super slow. Doesn't matter what fix. Doesn't matter what keyboard. Doesn't matter what browser.

My Nexus 6 does not suffer from this issue under the same conditions. Same webpage, same keyboard, same browser. In fact, my Nexus 6 has never experienced the lag that my Note 7 has produced.

I love this phone and the form factor, but any lag at all is inexcusable. Especially when I never see any on my Nexus 6. Pretty sure I'll be getting a refund and going back to my Nexus 6.

Mine does this occasionally. I'm guessing resources are being bogged down. I have hundreds of apps and getting closer to using all the storage. I'll gonna clear some app data, delete apps I don't need and transfer and pics and videos to my SD card off the phone. Doesn't happen too often but I know I take my Note 7 to the max with my usage.
