Hello. For the unlock process to be done firmware has to be downgraded to at least bin 2 and I am currently on bin 6 which is the latest available firmware for my device, is it possible to downgrade the firmware to a previous one via odin or other methods? sorry if these posts are not allowed in this forum I am just trying to understand if possible.

If your phone has Mediatek chipset you can unlock the bootloader using MTK client and then try to downgrade the firmware using odin.
Please note that this may brick your device.

I have done this with Samsung Tab A7 Lite which has Mediatek Chipset and it worked.

I know this might be a dumb question but how can I know the chipset manufacturer?
Open device manager on your computer.
Switch off the device. Now press and hold volume up and down keys together and connect to your computer.

You will see that it will show up as Mediatek Preloader under PORTS and COM section of device manager
which indicates it has a Mediatek CPU.

The simple way is to install CPU-Z app and check the processor type.

Thank you for the fast response, I was just now able to validate the CPU manufacture and it is in fact MediaTek (MT6833).
Now, how can I proceed to unlock the bootloader part? I am familiar with flashing ROMs on Odin..

Yes it is from metropcs. Allegedly carrier unlocked since I asked them many times but a non USA sim will trigger the network lock pop up, and the network unlock option is not present on the network settings for some reason it might be hidden and I tried restoring other carrier firmware without luck.

I have a special tool to do the bootloader as well as network unlock but it is somewhat risky.
Do you still want to try it?

I mean at this point only option for GSM unlock is to somehow downgrade to 2 LIB and that wouldn’t be possible without unlocking the boot loader, so yeah I would like to try it.
