OK, if any of you guys are looking to root your sm-g530az just to get your tethering to work after 5.1.1 lollipop update, here is my own hack method I figured out for your stock phone, go to "settings" then "more networks" then "mobile networks" then "access point names" also known as "APN" create a new 1, then--
"NAME" - whatever name u want, I used "HOTSPOT"
"APN" - "ndo"
"PROXY" - "proxy.cricketwireless .net "
"PORT" - "80"
"USERNAME" - "PASSWORD" - "SERVER'" - leave blank.
"MMSC" - "http :// mmsc.aiowireless .net " NO SPACES
"MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE PROXY" - "proxy.aiowireless.net"
"MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE PORT" - "80"
"MCC" - "310"
"MNC" - "150"
"AUTHENICATION TYPE" - leave blank
"APN TYPE" - "default,mms,hipri,supl,fota"
Then save it....
Now if u change your APN to the new 1 u just created, then u can go back to your mobile hotspot and tethering, it WILL turn on "no extra charge" now your hotspot will have internet and most of your apps will also, except for internet explorer, so now that your hotspot is turned on, go back to your APN's and change it back to your original APN, opposite of the 1 u just made, "while your hotspot is still running" and now u should have mobile hotspot working and your internet explorer at the same time!

I just tried this and it actually worked so thank you for sharing the hack. I don't know how long this will last or if Cricket will do something about it.

This method works on LG G Stylo as well, thx franksta42069,

just reading this is anyone besides me actually trying to get custom recovery or roms to work on the cricket version?
toxinburn, I have switched to Cricket LG G Stylo which is even worse than GP when it comes to development. It doesn't even have a dedicated section. I will surely miss the GP. In my opinion GP is better build quality than Stylo. The reasons I went for the Stylo; Bigger higher res screen, stylus and a notification light. Stock firmware (kdz) is not available for Cricket Stylo :(

Do you do this just to make IE work? If IE is not the browser I use, then don't worry about this part?

Or, do this(change back to the original APN) and run that for hotspot as if no alteration was performed?

I used this on an LG Stylo2 and it seemed to work.
