So let me ask this then... If I was to root my phone, install custom software, etc, then in theory I could:

1. Backup APNs
2. Follow these steps to unroot: http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2013/04/how-to-unroot-samsung-galaxy-devices.html
3. Restore APNs
4. And I am completely unrooted, back to stock.. Done. Warranty is back and everything? Able to install OTA updates etc?

The main thing I have a question about is that when I tried to use APN backup and restore it said it was unable because of my version of android. So someone suggested online to make it a sys app.. But how can you do that after you flash it and lose root?

MMS is working on optimal rom, I have just tested calling, receiving calls, 3g, 4G lte,txt & mms

Just be sure to go 2-3 pages back to where evilryry explained how to backup your APN & be sure you do it before you flash optimal rom.

Flashing firmware back to stock removes root too. Can only get ota if you don't trip knox (custom kernel/recovery) even if you flash back knox is still tripped. But the latest firmware is always available to you on that site. U use apn backup and restore as a system priv app. Why do you not want root??

I do want root, but If I ever need to revert back then I would like to have the ability to. I guess I just had so many problems with my last phone after I messed with it I am scared to with this phone! So is it possible to not trip knox?

I have tested alot of stuff and had TW not load & had the phone not but but It's easy to Odin back to stock.

@evilryry Is there any other rom I should test that is better than Optimal??

I tried to give thanks to @evilryry & @fantasy2c for all the help & I'm limited to 8 thanks per day, lol..

Only if you don't use a custom kernel or recovery. It's easy to flash back to stock but knox is forever tripped... Only matters if it's under warranty for any sort of hardware problem. I tripped knox the first night I had this phone. I personally don't give 2 craps about knox. Firmware to flash stock rom is always available only thing is you can't accept ota's but you can just manually flash the newest update once it's available....

So I have finally rooted my phone... Now since I have already voided the warrenty I want to get ClockWorkMod on here. However, it seems my device is not supported. Has anyone had any luck installing clockworkmod recovery on a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900R6)?

It won't brick, it's a recovery. Download it and use flashify in play store to flash it. Flash img, dont download stock twrp with the app

Hey so I know I'm doing something wrong.. I just can't figure out what. I go to his page and download the twrp for s5. Use flashify to flash it. After it flashes (takes half a second) it says flash more or reboot. I hit reboot to see the twrp and I get just the basic recovery. So I hit reboot and after the Samsung picture loads I get a black screen and one by one all the apps crash. And the only way I have found to fix it is do a factory reset. Any ideas?

Use twrp manager app to install the normal twrp then when in it flash the ktoonsez twrp recovery to replace the stock twrp. Stock twrp isn't that good but it'll get you to where you need to be

Cool.. that worked. I was afraid to try cause I couldn't find proof that anyone has already tried it and it did not mess up their phone! So before I start flashing OSes, I am having a problem with APN backup and restore. I have made it a system app. I can back it up as expected, but when I go to restore it, I get the following message:

Well that's how I did it the first time and it didn't screw up my phone so, lol. As far as apn backup and restore goes, Use a root Explorer to locate the apk in /system/app (you'll see the icon and it'll be named named something odd starting with com) and hit move on it, paste it to /system/priv-app reboot and it'll work.

I had already done that... So it is in the priv-app folder already and still showing that message (I just verified again).

I just got a TMob S5 (SM-G900T) on Android 4.4.2 with Build NH5. It's rooted with the CF Auto Root and I want to flash the KT TWRP Recovery.

So here's what I understand from your post:
1-Install TWRP Manager App
2-Use the TWRP Manager App to install stock TWRP
3-Boot into Recovery (Hopefully TWRP at this point) - Use the stock TWRP Recovery to flash the Ktoonsez TWRP recovery

IS THIS CORRECT?

BTW-Flashify wants an img file for flashing recovery. The KT-TWRP file I have is a zip file. How do I use Flashify with a zip Recovery (the KT TWRP)???

The only reason I had to do stock first was cause I was having problems doing it that way. If you can flash without doing stock first, do it how it was described a few posts up. you must first unzip the zip file to flash.
