Hello @xclub_101 ---excuse me--is this exercise ONLY suitable for N900W8--or can users of International SM N900 use CF-Root and hope to not trip KNOX indicator???
As far as I know N900 and N9005 + CF-Root will always trip Knox - the exception was EXCLUSIVELY for N900W8 (and I think not even always for that one too). That one (N900W8) also lets you downgrade 4.4 -> 4.3.

However there MIGHT be a way to reset knox - for the moment on N900 only - see this:

I'm already on 4.4.2 through ota

I updated to 4.4.2 from stock no root 4.3 and am a little confused, can I root through Cf root without tripping knox. I've been reading that people have used cf-auto-root with out tripping it on this SM-N900W8 model. Does anyone have a screen shot or even better a YouTube video of it happening without the knox counter changing.

Is this good enough for you?

Anyways, I'm running what it says in my sig, and I'm still 0x0. I checked for someone this morning.

After OTA upgrade to KitKat, I used Part 2 of this guide to root and install TWRP. I didn't use any other parts from that guide, but did install this kernel via TWRP though.
Worked like a champ, Dude! Thanx for the tip, I have thanked you on the post too. No KNOX flags either (KNOX 0x0), but the Binary and Sys status is custom now so the warranty is shot regardless... but hey, Im rooted! :D

So as it turns out, the Canadian variant SMN900W8 has receieved a kitkat version/mod that allows us to keep knox at 0x0 and give us a custom recovery, as well as root, through means that would normally trip Knox. I just wanted to compile a list of things that are working and doesn't trip Knox.

So far we know the following won't:

-Root (Through CF-ROOT)
- Custom Recovery
- Xnote 8.0
-XNote Kernel works without tripping Knox (selected in the AROMA installer) however I'm not sure if the changes are too mild to even trip knox.

Unconfirmed

- Kernels
- Theme/Sound mods
- AOSP Roms

I'll update OP as users start reporting in.
I have tried flashing the following on my 4.4.2 Rogers Firmware (meaning I did not change to Telcel Firmware)
- Custom Recovery: TWRP 2.7.0.0
- Root: CF-Auto-Root (Latest)

and guess what ----- here are my results
- I AM FULLY ROOTED
- KNOX is Untripped but SYSTEM STATUS is Custom
- SEAndroid is Enforcing (still) and KNOX Container is working
- I CAN DOWNGRADE
- I am able to change any of the system settings (via root and sqlite)
- I am able to safely port some Galaxy S5 applications

NO NEED FOR TELCEL FIRMWARE
--- ANY 4.4.2 Kitkat SM-N900W8 has the KNOX Flaw :))

The root and recovery world great and no trip, can I use hyperdrive instead of xnote and still keep 0.0

Could you make a video going though the process to root and install a custom recovery the way you did in your post.

Thanks
Wayne

I cannot do a video for now mate, coz of provincial exams here in WPG. But I will provide you the details.

Note: In rooting your Samsung GALAXY Note 3, make sure that REACTIVATION LOCK is UNCHECKED under the security options or else the flashing will interrupt. I also recommend having the original fimware as a backup if anything goes wrong. If you did not follow this direction, it will not be my fault if you run into a bootloop or malfunction

Confirmed: NO NEED FOR THE TELCEL FIRMWARE TO BE FLASHED. Go with the firmware in your device.
I am using my RWC firmware and KNOX wasn't tripped during the process.

What to do?
Get the following files from the links provided below.

FLASH FIRST the ChainFire Auto-Root I have provided. The SM-N900W8's root file will not work in Kitkat, so use the one I provided. After flashing, check your DOWNLOAD MODE and confirm if it is still 0x0 or 0x1. If all is still in success, flash now the TWRP.

Device will be considered FULLY ROOTED but limited by some functions due to the KNOX Secure Kernel.

Notice the following:
A. I am using XPOSED Modules for theming my Note 3 into a GALAXY S5
B. My device is running under ROGERS Wireless because I bought the phone from ROGERS
C. Device has ROOT Access and is working with Titanium Backup / SQLITE Editor / XPOSED

Have SM-N900W8 on 4.4kk. while rooting all seems to be ok but stuck in boot loop after rooting process said it was finished in ODIN... followed steps to the letter... security lock was off too. Just rebooting and rebooting...
Hey mate, do not use the SM-N900W8's CF AutoRoot on 4.4.2 Kitkat -- IT WILL NOT WORK. Use the file I provided. It did not trip my KNOX. Chainfire mentioned it in one of his posts, that for W8's use the 9005's latest CF. That is why I provided the CF on the links. :)

MAN! Do not use the SM-N900W8's CF AutoRoot for Kitkat -- IT WILL NOT WORK. Use the file I provided. It did not trip my KNOX.
Thanx Dude, figured that out with help of a few other XDA kats help about a month ago. Used CF AR with 9005 md5 files. Worked like a champ, and got same results. No Knox flags, but binary and sys status says custom now. Ive read and been advised by a few others that that can be fixed... but havent bothered to fix it. However, I would like to know how to get the OTA updates that I'll surely mis now that root has stopped me from getting updates...

We can't get updates in CUSTOM. If you want, just reflash an official firmware when an update comes. It will restore everything back to Official. One sure thing is that we lose root. But we still don't know if in the next update, we can still bypass KNOX 2.0, which is really a challenge. But without tripping the KNOX counter, it is sure that A. WE ARE ROOTED and B. DESPITE BEING ROOTED, WE CAN USE THE KNOX CONTAINER :)

Has there even been any OTA updates in the past month? If I have a Bell 900w8 how would I flash a stock recovery back on the SGN3? Sorry not real sure about that process yet so in the event that ai do that, and I just might, a quick reference to the files and process would be appreciated. .. but I understand that may be a hassle so no problem if you don't want to get into that. I do have the Sammy program (kies3) to do that already installed on my comp. If thats what I need ...

Recently sammobile and samsung-updates do not release the stock recoveries. Maybe this is because it is embedded in the knox . . if you want stock recovery , then just flash the cf-autoroot -- it has a stock recovery built there
