Thanks for all the work @adfree! I have the Canadian SM-R600 (R600XXU1AQK4) and was wondering if you have had any success yet changing the CSC? I saw you played an active part in accomplishing that on the S3.

I'm by no means proficient in programming, but quite familiar with rooting, sdb, odin, etc. Let me know if I can help.

Cheers!
Well, I'm stoked to report that I managed to unlock SPay on my Canadian SM-R600! And it was a lot easier than anticipated... A huge thank you to xda members (@adfree @10urshin) for the info! I hope this helps others to get SPay going on their SM-R600.

Here's what I did. I'm not sure if this first part is related at all, but while messing around with the watch, I had ExpressVPN (US server LA3) running on my Note8.

While looking for some app IDs using the Tizen Studio shell I noticed the app "csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration", probably the same app as described by others during the more complex method for the S3.

For sh*** and giggles I ran it with

Code:
launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration
I simply selected XAR and rebooted. It automatically reset the watch (I had a backup) and after reboot, restore, and a bunch of updates I was still with CSC XAR. I added my Scotiabank Visa and verified the card through phone call. A few minutes later everything was up and running. Bam!

PS. I'm still on "untouched" R600XXU1AQK4

@detjoe

:good: :good: :good:

Very good solution.

Thank you very much for sharing. :good:

Please correct Command for CSC Preconfig...
This is only the Verification Tool.

Code:
launch_app csc-manager.csc-verifier
Nice to check Sales Code/CSC... but not select...

Thank you very much.

Best, seems to work with Stock Firmware...
No need of Combination Firmware. :good:

Best Regards

@adfree

Thanks for the heads-up! The shell doesn't seem to have a command history. I tried to find the log file to verify which command I actually used, but with no luck. Any way to find out? I don't want to provide wrong code again...

It's gotta be csc-sim-selection or csc-pre-configuration...

Code:
launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration
It is pre-configuration...
Short tested and work... for me.

Found by text string search... in Firmware files.
Maybe other hidden Apps also possible to execute...

Maybe we should check deeper testmode Binary...

This SIM thingie I have tried on SM-R765A... but failed...
No idea if usefull on LTE devices... like SM-R765 or SM-R775 series...

Best Regards

Awesome. Updated the code :good:

Yes, I've tried a bunch of the hidden apps and quite a few of them are executable directly on the watch. I've created shortcuts on a watch face for the useful ones.

Hi Looks like you have had some great success. I have been trying to follow the instructions in the links and have no idea what im doing. I would appreciate it if someone could lend me a hand to get started. This is definitely out of my skill set range.

Cheers

NO panic. It is NOt Rocket Science.

SDB is here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74585286&postcount=330

No need of installation of full Tizen Studio.

Important part is to connect SDB Tool over WiFi.

For this please read:
Code:
Guidelines_on_Connecting_GearS2_device_using_WiFi.pdf
Guidelines_on_Connecting_GearS2_device_using_WiFi_151222.pdf
Attached in SDB package...

Is it possible when automatic workout detection is on the watch automatically turn on heart rate monitoring too? Because mine is not turning on and cant find any settings to turn on automatically. It is only working when i manually start some kind of workout.

i suspect that in order to get proper sleep insights you need to have HR set to always on.
if i leave it on frequent (says every 10min when resting), it actually records once a hour at night, so the sleep graph is useless.
can anyone confirm?

also do you know what markets is speedo on available on the gear sport? i can't find it in my gear S app market on my iphone....
thanks!

Actually finally got connected but cant seem to actually launch that csc app? Like I dont have permission? Not really sure I'm on tizen 3 update no though does that matter?
I can see csc-manager folder under usr/apps/csc-manager but the shared folder under all that is empty? What am I missing driving me nuts.
Thanks again
