If you are not able to use Com5 and Com6
I can not for the life of me get it to let me choose COM5 as Outgoing I added COM5 to the SupportedPorts but it's still not showing up
As you can see on one of the latest posts (6 posts prior to this one) I succeeded to use other ports then the Com 5 and Com 6 ports. In short, this is what i Did:
1. Clean reset your device and MBW Watch;
2. Pair as innstructed;
3. Alter the Registry 1 file as mentioned so your own BT Watch Mac Address is in the registry file;
4. Apply the file on the PDA and check if the settings are really added in the registry of the device;
5. Shutdown Bluetoot on the device and Soft Reset the PDA;
6. If the PDA is booted, go into the BT manager and try to create an Outgoing port, first try COM5, it should fail as you mentioned (You don't need secure connection);
7. Try all the other possible ports and write the ports down who DO succeed. In my trial an error run I got an working outgoing port on Com2 Com4 and Com8.
8. If you tried everything please pick a port (This is like a lucky shot), i did my lucky shot with Com2. So now the BT manager should say "MBW-150(COM2)".
9. Alter the second Registry file, Find and Replace all 6 into the second 'free' port. In my case this would be Com4 (I also could have chosen Com8). If you leave the second registry file 'as is' it will create an incomming port Com6.
10. Apply the second registry file;
11. Shut down the Bluetooth connection and clean softreset the PDA. Also disable the Bluetooth connection on your MBW Watch!
12. Check the Bluetooth Manager, it should say "MBW-150(COM2)" and "Incoming Port (COM4)";
13. Enable Bluetooth and install SmartWatchM;
14. Change the Incmming port in the SmartWatchM application, as you have changed it aswell, in my case I changed it to Com4;
15. Press "Start" in the SmartWatchM application, it should say something like "Waiting for connection"
16. Now start up the Bluetooth connection on your MBW Watch again and follow the 'communication' commin by on the PDA screen.
Please be sure you are using a Clean Resetted device, if you get alott of 'garbage' on the screen when starting SmartWatchM you should check if .NET 2 SP2 is really installed. You could try to Clean (Hard) reset the PDA again and start oof installing .NET 2SP2.
If you are still running into problems, please tel us the Brand and Model of your device. Also try to give us as much of details about the used Firmware (WM5 WM6 custom or orginal shipped, which language etc). You could also try some Other ports, please tell us which ports you were able to create an outgoing connection to the MBW - 150. I see from your prior posting that you are using a WM standard (Smartphone) device, I'm not completely satisfied that this procedure is 100% matching with the stepd for a Smartphone. Above procedure is for an HTC Tytn (Windows Mobile 6 Professional), please let us know how you are doing.
Good Luck!
AARAGGHHHHH They guy fixed it while I was writing a HowTo ... I hope it will help someone else aswell! Good Going AlfredTV
