Hi,
I've been struggling with this for a couple days now. I can't get my computer to recognize my bricked galaxy S5 SM-G900V. I have tried several of the USB drivers: v1.7.28.0 and v1.7.31.0 to be specific. And have tried them on both my laptop and my desktop. Both are running windows 10 home 64 bit. I get the same issue over and over no matter what I do.

I ran into this issue when I was initially following @jrkruse's "[GUIDE] Root, Bootloader Unlocks, and More" guide. I managed to get windows and Odin3 to recognize my phone. I got a Fail message from Odin and tried again with the help on the samsungsfour, "How To Resolve Odin Flash Failed Error On Galaxy Smartphone?" page. XDA forums won't let me link it since I'm new.

That didn't work. I got another fail message from Odin.

One of the only things I can think of is maybe the battery is low. It's sitting on the charger with the "Fimrware upgrade encountered and issue" page with the exclamation mark. Hopefully it's charging.

If anyone can help, please help. Thanks.

I let the s5 sit plugged in over night.
That didn't seem to make a difference.
uninstall, reinstall the USB driver (this time right click and choose admin)... no difference.
I plugged it into a port it was never plugged into. Success! I told loaded the ROM and hit start. It sat there for a hour or so before I got curious to see what the deal was. A quick search lead me to finding someone else that was stuck with the last line in the log being "aboot.mbn". He said he fixed it with a different cable. I happened to have a different cable from a newer portable HD. I plugged it in. My laptop recognized it right away. I loaded the rom into odin right away It looked promising. Un-bricked! This makes me happy. Though I'm still stuck with a verizon locked s5. I need to figure out if there's a way of unlocking it. Onward.
