Hi guys,

Facing an issue with SMS.
I checked the SMSC number in the test menu(*#*#4636#*#*) which is blank. I do a refresh which populates the number and then an update and it sticks. But as soon as I exit the screen, it again becomes blank.

I can't pin-point this to Lollipop update either, because I was on another carrier post the update and it worked fine then.
Also the carrier I am on now worked fine earlier on the phone(Pre-Lollipop)

Some people suggested doing a cache wipe, but that didn't fix it for me.
Any help ?

Regards,
Neel I

it always shows blank every time you reenter the Phone Info screen. The number only shows up when you click Refresh. This is normal behavior for a working sms function. And you don't have to click Update unless you've changed the number that appears when you click Refresh.

I suggest you make sure the number that you have there is correct for the network you're on. you can Google it or ask the provider. also, even if the numbers are correct the way they're entered (prefix, etc) might be off. Or it could be some other issue that's causing problems, unrelated to smsc. you could check with the provider, try another sim, etc.

Well, the number is correct along with the country code.
The thing is it worked with the same sim earlier, as well as with another provider. Now that I am back on the old provider it's failing, which is what is confusing me.
I'll check up with the provider, now that you've mentioned SMSC thing is in place.

Thanks!
