So now that the dust gas settled, I will ask again... "Why do there have to be two variants anyway? Why do they bother to go with two?"Agree. :good:

I wonder what is people point of view regarding this long time issue. The exynos 9825 is by far a worse soc compared to snapdragon 855. It can maybe be compared with an almost 2 year old soc, the snapdragon 845.
This is simply unacceptable. The exynos and the snapdragon variants are equally priced and the former underperforms heavily for 3rd year in a row.
I am not upgrading to note 10 plus, will stick to my exynos note9 and wait for a proper flagship with a 855 or 855+.
I suspect that Samsung did not put the 855+ because the difference in benchmarks would be ridiculously different between exynos 9825 and 855+ variant.

Can you elaborate on #2, even if speculation? It would be entertaining to hear...1. Extra cash
2. Government spy
3. Samsung backup plan in chip business - keeping alive its chip.
Don't get me wrong, I am suspecting both the Qualcomm trust zone and the Exynos to have some key access based backdoor. Apple also. Huawei also. But as for the Qualcomm of I really think the acces is only by the United States. That's one reason why it's sold in Hong Kong also. Can you elaborate on #2, even if speculation? I think/thought it was related to bands used? Some exynos bands dont work in usa and Visa versa with the snapdragon. Plus perhaps Samsung don't have the capacity to make enough exynos chips? So now that the dust gas settled, I will ask again... "Why do there have to be two variants anyway? Yes! Bought it on launch from a Samsung Cafe!thats odd , mine is Exynos , Are you sure you bought indian variant ?
In English?Have you seen the battery on exynos version. https://youtu.be/RTezwqJgo5M
7 h and 47 min on gaming and rec 4k 60fp. Beat all competitors flagship without p30 pro Exynos is awesome even if is surpass in performance. Lets be real. Exynos will manage anything we drop at him no matter what.Battery is important. And so far by youre complains on xda compare to exynos sd is a failure.

That's not entirely true... Overall performance of SD is much greater than the Exynos especially on graphics where you can see lower FPS and sometimes hangs on the Exynos.Sorry OP but I think you are over doing this.
The Exynos is slower in some tests and the Snapdragon in others. In every case the difference is so small that it can only be found in careful bench tests.
There is no way you can tell which processor is in the phone just by using it.
I bought the 10+ because it is the best phone out there at the moment., and I was happy to accept whatever silicon was in there.
It does everything I want at lightning speed, and gives me 7.5 hours of screen time.
That satisfies me and I'm content to leave it to Samsung to decide what parts they put in it.
I would like to see anyone try blind tests to tell one from the other. The single-core score is actually a bit higher for the Exynos.
The GPU performance is disappointing though. Especially if you play lots of games.
But I wonder if there is any noticable difference in daily usage.
Why ever do you think it's not "fun" for me?Lol i understand that it's not fun to hear that exynos is worse than snapdragon but you payed same price.
Exactly this - it is nothing more sinister than band compatibility / regulatory compliance.I think/thought it was related to bands used? Some exynos bands dont work in usa and Visa versa with the snapdragon. Plus perhaps Samsung don't have the capacity to make enough exynos chips?

america to be blamedExactly this - it is nothing more sinister than band compatibility / regulatory compliance.
If Samsung could, they'd use Exynos in every device as it makes them more profit; but currently for those territories where their chipset either doesn't support the bands used locally or is not passed by the local regulator to use the bands it does support, they "fall back" on a Qualcomm chipset instead.
All this tally about back doors, government interference, wanting to piss off certain regions, is absolute bullsh*t!
