Snapdragon vs exynos: A long time joke from Samsung.

Which note10 + variant would you buy should you have a free choice?

So is there a big difference between the 2 note10 plus? I was about to get one here in the UK but then I was reading that the snapdragon is much better I'm especially concerned about the battery life

So I am looking to buy a SD version online. I have read from people who have done this and most say that everything works fine. The only thing I'm not clear about is the warranty, will it be valid?

Not if it's a grey import...
If you can get the SD variant in your country, fine, otherwise Samsung don't honor the warranty... You would have to send back to where you got it and hope they can/will fix in a short time...
Just be aware, always send with tracking if you need to as it can/will invariably go "missing in the post" otherwise...

Lol i understand that it's not fun to hear that exynos is worse than snapdragon but you payed same price.
In defense a lot of people are saying they re not perceiving anything different, as if they have the actual 2 phones to compare. The only ones who did this are those who run benchmarks in YouTube, and the gap is there, 3rd year in a row.
It's nothing new.
So instead of being a fanboy just accept it. Samsung blew this up, again. This year they didn't even put the best soc, 855+, just because in that case the discrepancy would be huge.
you sound so preachy. A lot of people just dont care. Both phones work great. You sound unhappy with your phone. You should sell it and go by something that you wont whine and complain about.

Now that samsung is dropping their custom exynos... i guess you will be happy?

I rather have the exynos and a unlocked bootloader for root and custom roms. I just got the US sd processor one because that was available with promotions, the correct signal bands/carrier aggregation, and warranty.

Exactly this - it is nothing more sinister than band compatibility / regulatory compliance.

If Samsung could, they'd use Exynos in every device as it makes them more profit; but currently for those territories where their chipset either doesn't support the bands used locally or is not passed by the local regulator to use the bands it does support, they "fall back" on a Qualcomm chipset instead.

All this tally about back doors, government interference, wanting to piss off certain regions, is absolute bullsh*t!

Sorry to burst your bubble but that is completely untrue. Samsung just announced they will no longer design and build exynos processors because they are behind in performance and cannot keep up with Snapdragon.

Thanks for the reply, also I'm wondering about updates, if I get the SD version and use in the UK will it affect updates? It should still get updates the same right?

In which country are you using it? Does everything work? And do you get updates as usual?

I don't know why you cry about the Processor speed, the SD is minimal faster than EX but otherwise the Graphics card on EX is faster as that in the SD

really?? ok you can meansure the speed with apps like antutu and ok the SD has 360K and the EX 350K but who care, you don't will feel that !

I have the Chinese version too bought it in Shanghai and I use it in France. Back 28th of October and got november update the 2nd of November. Only not working thing is Samsung pay (only support Chinese cards). There are still some little things in Chinese here and around. Nothing useful and nothing that I can't replace. Also the battery life is truly awesome. As is the reception. Had some trouble with my exynos note 8 with signal reception.

I'm 100% satisfied with Exynos 9825
Snapdragon is better for now, but 7nm EUV Exynos is awesome too,
and for someone who doesn't play games can be 9825 right choice.

Last news said, Samsung will keep Exynos alive just ending build their Mongoose cores and instead start using Cortex

Exynos variant is absolutly a joke when it's come to the shutter speed. It's very slow. My S7 edge takes much more faster picture ! Same with an S9. My picture are blurry cause of the lag.
Anyone facing this issue ?

Not really. I don't see the link between CPU and shutter speed, could you enlight me ?
Shutter is linked with ISO ; when it is dark the Note10+ (SD or Exy, does not matter) uses lowest ISO for an acceptable shutter speed for stabilization (down to 1/10th sec or so) resulting in blur if the subject moves in low light, because it sets a slow shutter. But it has nothing to do with the CPU.
It is only due to the small sensor, in low light, the camera itself, among as the limited ISO available (only up to 1250 in auto-mode and 800 manual). So the shutter speed is set slow to reduce the grain because the software tells it to.

I'm probably late to the party but I had the N10+ N975F Exynos version coming from the Xperia 1 and I can tell you that it's slower. Yes it's slower than the Xperia one and the battery life isn't anything to brag about. I get intermittent lags or micro stutter when I'm browsing and scrolling, when I'm reading comments on Facebook or Youtube or when I'm on insta. I really couldn't bear it. It feels like the GPU was downlocked or wasn't powerful enough.

I tried to hard reset, factory restore settings but nothing did help...

I logged in to Amazon US, ordered the N9750 and I can tell you it felt a different phone from the first moment.... I don't usually like Samsung phones but yes it's a day and night difference. The boot time is faster, the animations are much smoother and the battery life is lasting at least 20% more ( SOT 6:30h on Exynos vs 8h+ on SD855)...

One additional bonus is the camera. Yes it took better picture. I can swear that the camera app took better pics overall and for the cherry on top, Gcam works flawlessly.

It's worth mentioning that I experienced higher standby battery usage on Exynos compared to SD855.

As you can see, 100-0% in almost 33 hours, heavy usage ( gaming, Youtube, Instagram, Web whatsapp 24/7, browsing and phone calls.... ) and almost 8h of SOT which is unbelievably good.

Settings : High power, WQHD display, adaptive brightness and 4G all the time. Whatsapp taking almost 20% of the battery because of the Whatsapp desktop app always running and the deep sleep is around 69% because of whatsapp doing daily backup on google drive with a backup size around 1.6 GB which takes more than 2h of background activity.

Overall, if you can find the N9750 which supports most of the bands, has dual SIM, better CPU, better GPU and BETTER BATTERY LIFE, don't think twice.

I have a 975F, and to be honest, All you say seems to me as if you talk about othet device than the 975F, high performance mode, AOD to always show, a bunch of utilities running, auto brighteness on, etc, but all bloatware disabled, and many apps that dont really need to be always running, put ro always sleep, with all this, I have no lags, no sttuters, the cam is blazing fast, I never let my batts to deplete completely, but I get some 7~8 SOT, and a total of some 20 hs when 15~20% of batt remaining, so, I can not ask for more, the best device among all my note series devices(2,3,4,7,8,10+) I have had to this very day

That's great, but I had both devices and I shared my experience. The N975F is certainly a great device but you won't know there's a better device out there until you try it.

Main weakness of the N975F is the GPU intensive apps like games etc.. The Adreno chipset makes all the difference. I don't know if you tried any device with an SD855 but I did and yeah, it's a superior.

I have a ROG Phone 2 with the SD855+. Sure there is a difference between ROG Phone 2 and Note10+ with Exynos but IMO the 120hz vs 60hz is the only difference I could notice, I don't game so the drop in GPU performance isn't really relevant for me. ROG Phone 2 destroys all when it comes to battery life but for a pretty small battery, the Note10+ does well too.
