I have the Japanese z2 so-03f and want to get rid off all the docomo junk and also go to android M from lolipop. But I have tried a few different firmwares and they all end with me having no sim detected. This is using Sony mobile flasher and xperifirm. Right now I am using Australian custom firmware which I thought would be fine as all my Australian phones have worked in Japan. But my so-03f with Australian or generic European firmware dosnt work.

What can I do other than to revert to stock docomo firmware?

This is FTF file for you version SO-03F https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=...079&parId=D8C1923911B5E6B3!1742&action=locate
Install fia Flash tool :
1. Download and install Flashtool on your PC : http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
2. Download the firmware you need (from the list below) and move the .ftf file into the directory C:/Flashtool/firmwares
3. Open Flashtool, click on the lightning symbol ("flash device"), select "Flashmode" and click on "OK"
4. Select the .ftf file of what you downloaded and click on "Flash"
5. Wait for a window to pop up (it may take a few seconds/minutes, just be patient)
6. Now turn off your phone and connect the usb cable to it
7. Push the volume-down button, keep pushing and connect the other end of the usb cable to your PC
8. Once the flashing process has started, you can release the volume button
9. NEVER disconnect the USB cable until it's finished!
10. Turn on and wait for the boot process to complete.

good luck

Thanks for taking the time to reply. But wont that put it back to docomo firmware? The version number seems the same as the one I was on. I want to be able to get off their firmware if possible.

Wait.. I might have fixed it. I flashed the NTT docomo firmware but only included the AMSS files, whatever they are. It apears they have something to do with the modem I guess.
SWEET! it works.

OK so for anyone with a SO-03F you can flash to Australian Generic MM android 6.0, but dont include the AMSS files nor include the partition file. This way you keep your network and keep the extra 16gb over the normal z2.
