Hello... Can anyone confirm whether you can get 4g calls (VoLTE, HD) with your carrier? Thank you!

Nah im from Germany.
Appreciate it. I'm in Ireland and I don't want to be getting in the same kind of trouble I ended up using one of my favourite phones, the Oppo Find x2 pro. There was no way to get the VoLTE no matter what. Still, the fact you get in Deutschland doesn't necessarily mean I would have it here...

Canada here. Imported through PDAPlaza (which is Canadian) and got my phone... I've read some bad reviews of the company. I can't say they're bad.

I am with a network provider that doesn't have 5G so I can't test that. But 4G appears to work and I am showing VoLTE.

Android Auto does not work, just tested it tonight. Was slightly disappointed... But Google Maps works and I have NAV in my car as well... so, a trusted phone holder will do the trick with bluetooth connected to the car. Not a big loss.

Google Assistant does not work... but for me, not a loss... never use it anyways.

Play Store works. Downloaded all my apps and no bugs. Only gotta manually set up your notification settings... and even there I'm not certain that all notifications come through. I even feel that I'm maybe not getting all my text messages for 2-way authentification factor.

I'm adjusting to Origin OS. First-timer. But I kind of really like it. I've read that if you set-up a Vivo account you can enable Nova Launcher. But I'm not even interested in setting up one and I don't have a Chinese phone number to set up a full Vivo account. I find Origin OS is so good that I don't need Nova. Origin is incredibly customizable. I've never been able to have such varied shapes and size folders to categorize my apps. Tons of animations. You can choose the design language of the icons and folders by making them more round or oval.

Got many system updates. Suggested updates from Vivo app store. Google Play store updates work just fine.

Overall I'm quite satisfied with the phone. Have yet to test the cameras but for my first "Chinese phone", I'm happy. Upgraded from P30 Pro but that was a global phone, not Chinese ROM.

I've seen many S23 Ultra reviews and the cameras looks great. But the 200MP pictures are worse (note that is not the standard picture size). I'm on the side that bigger sensor is better than ultra-pixel-binning.

You don't need a chinese phone number to create the vivo account. I used my phone number, I didn't received the code right away, it took some time until I received the code, like 6-7 min. Or you can create the account using a browser.

I think to order when I realised that model Pro plus is not coming to Europe. Just need to make clear, is it true that 5G doesn't work on this? and there is obviously English menu in OS, any other issues?
Giztop is expensive, up to +25% over the actual mainland retail price. They will line their coffers with every bit they can.
Do you have Giztop ship to a country that loves those taxes, a tradition of exact routine for every item, customs clearance can be unlocked with shop invoice.pdf and matching transfer receipt.pdf
If you don't feel bold enough to have that pixel counted rearranged pdf of the buyers papers....They don't provide anything hat could be recognized anywhere for a legal document
If anyone hands in the crap they tried to have me send to clearance, I may as well written a note in word titled PayPal.
The part they could actually provide : a amended invoice they just don't.

I don't know if this is the reason, though in your terms& conditions they give a very leading statement...
"No customs evaluation 90% of shipments"
"If customs examine it's ok we are such prepared that for a value of UpTo 160usd they will pay all import fees"
. they really can get people good with this,
The chance of having a no customs import only might happen if you choose the cheap shipping, choose DHL express maybe it's slower actually, until you get Giztop to tell you everything that is written in the waybill,
Ask them to give a new adjusted invoice,
The only thing, they don't forget to mention every time is that the document they provided usually works,..that is a scam
They try to make you send a fake invoice that screams to customs: -> examine <-
DHL is required by law to examine any evidence of tax avoidance
When you know what is expected, you can get it ready on time, handing in originals, with the matching figures of the shop on the package. Only if you make it happen, then will they pay duties as advertised.
" pay 160us of the tax if examined."

In 2020 a cheap RedminNote11Pro was at customs. Back then I couldn't prepare a original for a copy of the figures sent out by this crappy staff. so I thought oh the customs insurance will cover this case.
Better give the real thing so I don't pay daily storage.
The fee in total adds maybe 25% to the price
. Writing to Giztop is like writing to some ai that doesn't know what a human interaction actually is.
I thought ok this is only 50usd that's under the "160usd taxes, etc"
The answer they gave me in 2020 was that they sent all required legal documents..
their 1 page "fakepaypal"

Not buying there , such crappy staff they deserve to be replaced by a soulless rock. .

Anywhere could be better than PizDup

Haw about you start with this lead

Well, you are quite wrong. I am not a fanboy by any stretch but stating that "Samsung will be double the price", while x90 pro plus is 1043 eur plus tax is not really the case. And yes, it will be more expensive when it comes to base proce of an ultr (1300 I'm guessing), and yes it will be better, not because it's samsung. Better software experiencce, better support, very consistent and great camera. 200 MP is not a gimmick, definitely not dumb and marketing ploy. It gives the flexibility. It will bin pixels when needed and also allow higher hybrid zoom. As for the person that claims to "know their stuff", you seem to ommit the basic information that won't suit your narrative, eh? Peace ;)

Maybe look at what post you're replying to, because I clearly disagreed with the "double the price" part that other guy said.
200 MP IS a gimmick no matter which way you look at it. Instead of trying to fix the infamous Samsung shutter lag, they increase the megapickle count. And for what? For what? Do casual users shoot billboard sized images? And hybrid zoom, really? Wtf do you need "hybrid zoom" for when you already have TWO separate zoom lenses?
For someone who's claims to be an objective user and not a fanboy, you seem quite pressed about me stating facts.

Well cannot use Google maps hand free without assistant. Cannot read out emails aloud without conversation of google assistant.
Notifications of Signal often break (must be because China cannot block Signal messenger like they can do with WhatsApp and others). Google apps in general crippled.

This phone has to be used like a phone 5 years ago. No modern intelligent interaction possible with the phone. But yeah outstanding camera for photos (less so for videos) and good but not great battery life.

If only Asus would have a camera phone. The Zenfone 9 and the rog phone 6 really rock for the target people. Pixel 7 would rock with good battery life. That's why just wait for Samsung s23 which likely will trump the x90 camera wise anyhow. And battery wise too (for that really bad chip they got good battery life). But yeah besides Samsung, Google and Asus, and Nokia on the low end there are no more good software phones. Motorola still a bit better then the remaining Chinese producers. As long as consumers buy mainly based on hardware they can continue with dismal software.
Well I guess it depends on what you want or need, i'm more than happy. From your writings i think even the Pixel 6a would be good for you.

I have been following the reviews of the X90 Pro+ since it was released and was super exited to finally retire my P30 Pro for this king of photography.
I find it hard to believe that Vivo decided to keep it exclusive to China, but that seems to be the case. Guess they think people who want the best camera phone is going to buy the lesser Vivo's instead of the upcoming S23. Doubt anyone is tempted by these Vivo's - utterly bizarre decision. Hoping sales will make them realise that.

In any case - thinking of importing it, as there is no other phone that tempts me.

Apart from the lack of warranty and/or hassle getting anything fixed or replaced in case of a fault (had the worst nightmare with an S7 from E-Global years back - threw it in the bin), are there any downsides to importing this phone to Europe (UK specifically)?
From my understanding there should be no 4g/5g band issues. How about Origin OS? Seems it has more functionality than Funtouch, but are there any potential issues?
    I don't use Android Auto.

Finally - which Chinese vendor is considered safe and reliable?

    Thanks!

Fully agree with this but would like to add:

    - timeline doesn't work in maps

Not sure how important that is, i had it always disabled.
Timeline in Google maps does indeed work..

The first samples of the 200MP mode in good light reveal tremendous details. The 1" sensor also has big disadvantages. Actually I'm really not sure if it's a net plus. 1 inch sensors really need to be coupled with variable aperture. I find landscape pictures on the x90 to be pretty lacking. Without it a 1/1.3 sensor maybe the better alternative.

I think the s23U will overall be the clearly better camera. For many the s22u was still superior to the vivo camera wise.
