That article speaks about REAL USB Type-C cable. Mi 4c has USB 2.0 with Type-C connector, it doesn't implement USB Type-C spec ON PURPOSE. It's fine to use real USB Type-C cable, but the original cable will work just fine as well. But don't use it to power any other device having REAL USB Type-C implementation.
