As far as play store your experience is interesting. Generally microg with spoofed signature or device is intended to work with individual google apps more than play store. Consider uploading a video or screen shots. Regarding the YouTube video you would need to research description or in comments in the video or research further on your own. Regardless the video author provided generous links so research further. However I am not obligated to you to explain your experience as reported regarding play store access and function using microg lighthouse version. Perhaps others will provide more insight if your method is reproduced and verified.

Very interesting video. If others can reproduce your experience it could be a new approach for gms access in Huawei mate 40 pro at least for users of harmony os 3.0. Consider uploading a similar video to YT and it may provide greater exposure to Huawei device owners using harmony os 3.0 and (china version) huawei mate 40 pro.

Your device is running os emui 12 not harmony os 3.0. Technically neither os should support lighthouse microg. Over time there will be additional viewers to experiment with microg lighthouse APK to determine its utility, success, limitation and failures. Most Huawei device owners are aware native gms will not work in emui 12 as an example but may succeed in harmony os. So perhaps this is the case in lighthouse microg. We do not have enough information from the developer unfortunately. The only device that officially claims to support lighthouse microg for google apps is Huawei mate 50 pro Emui version Id 636.

Please keep in mind lighthouse APK is based on microg services core which may conflict with your native gms google play services.

I know, because I tried installing the lighthouse and it says : failed to install because there is a newer version on the device. But I'm about to get a Huawei Mate 50 pro and I'll try the Lighthouse method on it. Then I will compare which method is more effective

followed you here from the other thread, so the lighthouse only works on 636 variant of huawei phones but not other overseas ones with the same module? how do the app even know if i am in malaysia or not, or once it is installed the region/country thing doesn't matter at all?

If I were a Huawei app gallery administrator or the developer I could perhaps answer your inquiry. Otherwise it is pure speculation. Could there have been spoofed signature of microg variant for that device group? But that does not explain other device owners claiming success with harmony os versions. Please feel free to do your own research on this matter. Afterwards post your findings here in xda developers.

There are two possible reasons for the app not performing the proper version of microG and region. In the meantime there appears to be a hybrid version of gbox now using lighthouse gms access rather than virtual gms access. This version as well has limited regional availabity in Huawei app gallery. This is a feature (regional availability ) that Huawei app gallery uses. Why? How? Feel free to inquire with admins at app gallery. Typically inquiries are made through the consumer Huawei web site, Though inquiries can be made through Huawei tech support app or support through the My Huawei app in systems. There may be other responses from others in xda developers to analyze this finding. Be patient and most importantly...Good luck.

Hello, I confirm this method also works for my mate 40 pro Chinese version running harmony OS 3.0

I am running native Play Store, and can install/update any apps.
