im having the issue where I cant boot up because my phone wiped when I switched from CWM to TWRP. I am on windows and trying to sideload but every time I try to it comes back "failed to write data 'protocol fault (not status)'. What is this and why? I am extremely frustrated sitting on a brand new hox+ that wont boot.

The RUU wont run because it doesnt see the phone. If going that route, what state does my phone need to be in? (Keeping in mind it wont boot).

How can I get this fixed using fastboot or TWRP?

What carrier? How did it wipe when switching? What did you hit? Switching recoveries does not touch internal storage. Reboot your system and put the phone in fastboot to run the RUU (I think it might just be normal hboot). Make sure you have the LATEST version of HTC sync manager installed

I unlocked, flashed cwm, flashed supersu, tried to flash team venom rom, it said i had to have TWRP so I flashed twrp and when I tried to reboot, it froze at boot screen so i booted to recovery and it said there was no OS. So when I went to try to flash one, there was nothing there. and now here I sit lol

If you hold the power button your device will shut down. Then you can boot into bootloader and then run ruu. Worked for me ;)

Turns out the issue wasn't my phone at all. It was windows trying to figure out the drivers since my phone wouldn't boot. I should have just insyaled ubuntu and been done with it
