I recently flashed a custom recovery in Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955FD) and it stucked on boot
.
Than, ODIN stopped in been able to flash any partition and started returnning a "DEVICEINFO" message error every time.
To by-pass this BL soft brick, I used a new trick
:
1- Start ODIN (I used 3.12);
2- Choose partition to flash (BL, RECOVERY, your prefered flavor) at the right option in ODIN:good:;
3- TURN OFF THE DEVICE;
4- PUT IT IN DOWNLOAD MODE HOLD: VOLDOWN+BIXIE+POWER and AFTER the option screen PRESS VOLUP;
5- TRICK PART: HOLD VOLDOWN+BIXIE+POWER at MOBILE AND *AT THE SAME TIME* (PUSH START BUTTON) in ODIN AND CONTINUE PRESSING VOLDOWN+BIXIE+POWER until download mode pre-option screen;
6- You get another error in flashing process; NO PROBLEM! :good:
7 - Put the mobile in DOWNLOAD MODE AGAIN, just pressing VOLUP, because you already put it in download mode pre-option screen state holding the keys in previous step.
8- Now, FLASH normally for a second time, and it will work :victory:.
I guess it works with all newer S8 BL.
Good Luck!
