Software Update failed

I have rooted Captivate with ROM manager installed. I have tried software update twice in effort to get GPS fix rolled out by AT&T on Sep 22. I keep on getting Update failed. Can you help? Here is what happens

Setting -> Software Update - Check for Updates
It downloads a file and then reboots
I see a screen that says applying update it goes to 50% and then "Update Failed"

Use that and you should be able to get JH7

Thanks. Do I need to "unroot" before I do that? Is it worth getting it or should I go back to Cog? Only reason I am trying this is for GPS fix that ATT/Smasung advertised.

Funny, the Samsung word is it is the GPS fix - and my GPS works much better (locks on quicker, better signal strength reports, acurate to 16 feet) since the update.

It couldn't hurt to update to the most recent "official" update. Some people find it does help GPS, some do not. Most times when you flash a new rom it will almost certainly make the GPS work for a few days, ymmv.

My GPS was working good even on 2.3b2 but then after a week it went to sucking again.
