So why all the compaints about the updates of software killing the battery?
4.2.2 has an issue with indexing media files with odd characters... I find syncing Itunes media to be troublesome, as Apple will truncate media files with the underline or underscore. Media player in Windows 7 will default to using underline as a method to spacing name information. That can be adjusted within the advanced settings for rip and file names.

I use my XP media player as I can adjust to jtrack name's numerical numbering for file names. It works well and will correct the issue. Though there is a bug with Google Music Player that shows up with more than 4,000 songs as I have about 50GB, which is about 1 months of continuous play on SD. I can install the OEM version to fix the issue, but that would require disabling auto update. I rely on auto update to send krap back at developers that continue to brake things and release to general public.

I have not seen any significant numbers of complaints about updates killing battery. I have had no issues on my Note 8 or my Galaxy S4, which is currently in 4.4.2. Both are stock. I am not only speaking for myself, but a few friends who have this tablet as well.
