Ugghhh...just shipped my HD2 this morning. Replacing it with an HD7...big mistake. Buttons are complete garbage. Build just feels sub-par in general.

Long story short, if you want the look of Windows Phone 7, use Hyperdroid with Launcher 7.

Just some random friendly advice to anyone thinking of switching. :)

It may have worked then but this time you were changng from a HD2 (THE GREATEST PHONE THERE IS) to another phone. So maybe you should have atleast found somewhere to test the HD7 out first to see if it really was worth changing to.
Yeah, would have been a good idea. I knew ahead of time that it had received some mixed reviews, but I thought it would still be usable.

Looks like HTC might honor the warranty. Sending in on Monday.

Or if you wanted WP7, then you should have run it on the HD2 !

And this method worked for me with my HD2 - Best blind purchase I ever made, LOL :p
EDIT: Removed inane post lol.

Yeah, I blindly bought my HD2 as well. Good move there. Bad move with HD7. Bad move with Samsung Vibrant. Good move with N1. :p

Need to settle on a phone and keep it.

Well, the HD2 I got is far from perfect. The hardware buttons move about 1mm left and right and the display sinks deeper into the chassis in two corners.
Last week I ordered an HD7 and returned it because the back covers did not match evenly. But that might be O2s fault, as it's a branded device and they increased storage, so I guess I can't blame HTC for that. Well, fact is that HTC produces great devices, but if you have bad luck you'll get a bad one, just as me. The best thing to do is to return it and request a new device then. Yet, you depend on your retailer ,but Amazon proved to be quite customer friendly in this regard.
As for generell build quality: Apart from the issues I mentioned above I like both devices. The back cover of the HD7 is a bit fragile, but it's not supposed to be removed very often, as there shouldn't be that many occasions when you have to switch your sim or battery. Everything else looks great and is solidly built. btw: here is the image I sent to my retailer requesting a new device because of this: http://img232.imageshack.us/i/img1118gn.jpg/

Yeah, mine has the battery cover issue as well. I'm using it with a case though, so it's not a huge issue for me. Wish they had kept the brushed metal cover and physical buttons.

Meh, I'm not crazy about the activation process. Plus, Hyperdroid seems a bit more functional? Frankly I kind of miss multitasking in WP7 lol. Really liking it otherwise.
