I might need to get a new charger

Bought this Charging Pad and I have issues with placement. Light will turn green and phone shows charging but it never gains anything.
Someone else on the forums also had issues with this charger and from the same seller.

I on the other hand have ordered from 2 different sellers (1 of them is no longer selling on eBay) and the other is still selling and both of them for me works - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Qi-Wireless...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item58b488b2cd

How is it with the placement, do you have any issues or can you pretty much just plop the phone down? Does this one also beep when you place it properly?

The one in the link (the one I purchased) has the audio and actually - I'm glad it does.
I have had to answer the phone in the middle of the night and putting it back on the pad is easier because I
can do it by feel and sound. The tone only signals annoyingly if you mis-align the phone on the pad. A quick
shove and it stops. If placed correctly (and there does appear to be a rather wide margin for error) it signals
once, the led goes blue and that's it.

I have also gotten this one CHOE UPGRADED Qi Wireless Charging Pad for use at work. It's small and sits nicely in my desk drawer. It also works very well.
Thanks! I decided on the muted version. I'm a very light sleeper and the fully charged beep would probably wake me up. Not being able to tell it's in the right spot is going to be a pain though. If it ends up being a problem this will be my work charger.

My dad and sister saw the wireless charging on my G3 and wanted one for their S5. So I got them the Qi receiver for their phone and bought them a charger. I couldn't order from the original person I ordered from so I took a chance with someone else. I could of ordered from valuebuybattery but heard people had issues with it. Even though I'm sure it will work fine on the S5, if they end up not needing it anymore, I can take it back. So I decided to test it on my phone to see if it had any issues and no problems at all.

So I'm 2/2 on those eBay hockey pucks working for me. I get no beeps or any warning messages on the phone. The LED goes from red to blue.

Just got mine from China and it works great. No fitment issues and it was surprisingly easy to install. I have the Nokia DT-900 chargers and it's no more difficult to find the sweet spot than my old G2 was.

I just received an email from the makers of the Air Dock. They are still working on getting the LG G3 to work with it "consistently". Will share any updates I hear back. Fingers crossed!!
If anybody is curious, the Air Dock works great with the LG G3 and the Quick Circle Wireless Charging case. I went ahead and bought one since the company claimed it worked, they were right!

So what do you do with the big floppy door when you're using maps? Sincere question. I want my airdock to work.

I just fold it over so the door sticks onto the dock itself, with the seam at the top. I also have a small metal plate under the cover, slightly smaller than the battery, which makes it stick even better due to the magnets in the dock.

the g3 has already qi wireless technology right? so you need only buy the pad for charging? why buy the support that fits on the back of the back cover?

Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app

LG G3 has ability to charge wirelessly but the carriers remove the pins on the NFC sticker (battery door) that let's you charge wirelessly. That's why we have to install the sticker chip or buy new battery doors that has the feature.

USA carriers who want to extort more money to enable that feature. You can buy OEM back door from Europe that still has the pins from factory. But it only has LG logo, not the carrier's logo.

But be careful, there are merchants who are buying generic back doors and applying the stickers. We can do that ourselves.

The advantage the OEM back door with NFC + Qi charging circuitry and pins from the factory is

1) guaranteed to work. Made by LG.

2) seems to have larger sweet spot on the charging pad vs these stickers. I've ordered one and will test when it arrives.

Without having to read through 70+ pages, is there a sticker that can be purchased which is confirmed working?

Thanks.
You don't have to read all 70 pages but you can atleast start from the middle. There is ONLY one Qi sticker chip on the market from one manufacturer and its confirmed working. It can be purchased on Aliexpress or eBay.

US carriers are STYLE 1 with a gap in between the 2 pins.

I see some are being sold with a heat disperser and some are not....is this a big deal or is it just a sticker LG put on the case to keep it in place and people think it's something else?

Well LG's stickers are all 1 piece. The $10 sticker chips all come with the heat dispatching sticker...at least for version 1. Version 2, as shown here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55204950&postcount=732 and has heat dispatching applied to it already.

No one knows if its really necessary to apply it but if the LG comes with it, I'm sure there is a reason for it. Also, with the heat that may be generated when charging, it's best to have something that will protect the battery.
