[Solution][CM9] LCD density dpi change & /system/app/Phone.apk incompatibility (FC)

The issue is caused by ...

1. Set lcd density from the default value (160 dpi) to a different one (e.g. 120 dpi)
2. Reboot
3. Start the phone app and dial any phone number
OR press emergency call on pattern lock screen
4. com.android.phone FC

Solution

Simply replace the /system/app/Phone.apk with the one extracted from another rom which use 120dpi as default value
E.g. You can use phone.apk from this ics rom for htc wildfire which have a ldpi screen

All the things are working fine

The attachment is extracted from the above rom

What is the advantage of changing the lcd density dpi value?

"... to show more things on the screen. A lower DPI value means smaller text/icons, and more screen real estate! Gives the effect of having a higher lcd resolution."

A new apk from 06.24 build (Phone0624.apk) is added, and of course please rename it to Phone.apk before placing into /system/app/

Yes v6.5 now uploading without CM9 update because cm9 update not ready
So still on nightly from 13-05-2012

I'm glad to help you to fix the issue in your s3 rom~~
Originally, I just decided to help the users who don't want big text ...
However, I personally use the original cm9 rom from maclaw, as I prefer simplicity and I won't like using a themed rom...
Actually, I'm not a developer, but a user who likes to play with different roms and try to fix bugs or make improvements.
Hope you'll make more and more qualified work

Sorry, it does not
And I've uploaded a new apk from 06.06 build of the htc wildfire ics rom as I mentioned ....
It seems that this new apk doesn't help ...

yes, cuz density on 140 makes the screen size like LDPI, and our MPDI can;t handle that, but LDPI phone.apk can, so you need to take it from a LDPI device

i setted the lcd dpi to 200 with "LCD Density modder".. but with playstore I can't install some application...the app isn't compatyble..

how can i fix it?

it doesn't works on stock rom,i have phone.apk from galaxy mini but when i paste and then reboot and it still don't works,it is displaying phone.apk FC.
