cutjo, this thread is for car head units with certain rom and chip, so you won't get correct answers here, is your tablet even rooted to install xposed? Find the proper forum for your device and try to get your answers there.

ONTOPIC: Installed latest rom from Malaysk and I didn't need to change the serial number to get TomTom working, even icons are working in TomTom which didn’t on my old rom, only thing is TomTom try to download the maps to internal memory and that was not the case in the stock rom. So downloaded per country I needed instead of whole Euro, it works like a charm.
latest lollipop or latest kitkat?

I tried several times to change (random and not) Serial Id to grant Tomtom GO reaching network on Android 5.1 Malaysk ver5, still no way , I tried everything, buying Pro ver 1.53, no matter to change it. Uninstalled, reinstalled, uncheck apps, re-check apps..., reboot, soft reboot.
I flashed with ver5 over MTCD_GS_V1.61 and several wipe data done...but no success.
Are here other options you may know for help me?

I have the same problem, i tried the KitKat ROM (it was working before, i just dont know which version, but the serial number was ok) and also the Lolipop ROM.
Several different programs could not fix my serial number, it stays the same. Either i am not able to use xposed correctly or my unit doesnt like these programs. (MTCB-KLD-v2.81)

I installed xposed, updated xposed, then installed the ID changer, enabled the ID changer, reboot, changed the serial number, reboot and nothing working. I made sure to press the "apply" button and it sayd that i need a reboot.
Neither the pro, nor the free version and also not an ID changer which somebody else linked here is working.

Is it possible that i lost root somehow? when i start a terminal and i change to root it works, but xposed never asked for root access.

I tried to revert back to an older version, but now the serial number is just zeroes.
Is there a way to get back to Kitkat with a correct serial number? i had on the last version of kitkat a too long serial number and also on lilipop without beeing able to fix it with a serial number changing program.

edit: i did two times an install of the older rom with wiping all data

For me Device ID Changer Pro worked on my rooted Joying MTCD no Xposed was needed.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.VTechno.androididchangerPro&hl=de

just entered 12 digits of any serial, saved and Tomtom could connect to Server.
The Sysinfo page shows a large number but Tomtom worked since change.

I will try the method from DSA, maybe the big difference between working and non working ID Changer is, that some have a MTCD, i have a MTCB and Device Changer does not work .....
But then i thought these ROMs are only for MTCB

Then... you are holding it wrong! :)
Follow this recipe:
  1. Install mtcservice-2.25.apk.
  2. Enable its xposed module in the xposed app.
  3. Reboot.
  4. Uninstall then reinstall TT GO, just to be sure.
thanks for the reply

i done that only thing that didn't work was the reboot
the stereo would just stay on like it crashed and a black screen i selected reboot from xposed
i had to poke the rst button to get the stereo working again :/

The reboot works if your firmware is also (pre)rooted.
You should also have an xposed able firmware.
What screen resolution do you have? (800x480 or 1024x600)

===
Now I've noticed that your MCU is of type MTCC - are you sure you are on the right thread? Because as far as I know, only MTCB & MTCD types are discussed here!
===
Good news, I asked around, and it seems that you could use MTCB firmware on your unit. Let me know what screen resolution you've got, to recommend an appropriate pre-rooted/xposed firmware.
===
Something tells me that your resolution is 800x480, so see post #484 for firmware, too.
the res is 800x480 and i have your firmware i believe with exposed on it
i did look to see if MTCB working on the MTCC before installing ;)

Then it should work well, just enable the module, restart, check out the Logs section of the xposed app, write down the new serial shown in the mtcservice - version 2.25 - preferences screen (click it), eventually uninstall and then reinstall TT GO.
(I had not known about MTCC until now)
got it working now :) thanks so much :)
