I have had this problem for so long and just fixed it now.
20180117 rom

To get this working i had to:

-Actually have to download the latest boot loader https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298969340
-Download odin 3.12 again
-Flash the boot loader with AP
-Pull the battery out, wait a minute, hold down vol down, power and home to get it to download mode
-Flash the bootloader with AP again
-Change USB port (and check the subsequent com port changes in ODIN)
-Pull the battery out, wait a minute, hold down vol down, power and home to get it to download mode
-Flash boot loader with AP again
-Boot into android, Works (all other later roms flashed also work)

In the past i have tried to update the bootloader but without the extra steps at the end, it was not successful.

Latest modem for N900K.

Hi everyone, my Galaxy Note 3 is a Korean version purchased in the UK. It has the same Snapdragon processor like the N9005 European version does contrary to what it is written online. Since my bootloader and download mode are Korean I can't seem to be able to flash the latest Nordic modem. I can not find a newer modem / baseband for my particular bootloader. The Resurrection Remix from 25 of October 2017 by vidwhal is the latest version that I can flash. Screen shots below. I appreciate any help you can give.

Yes, Odin fails to flash it displaying the “apn hlos“ error. I guess that this is because it is the N900K variant. It's extremely annoying because that is the only difference from the N9005 International version. If only there was a way to somehow flash the international bootloader or otherwise trick the bootloader into accepting the latest Nordic modem / baseband designed for N9005. Perhaps someone that knows how to do it can add N900K compatibility to this modem.

I fixed it...

Hi all
I have had this problem.
I am running a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 (hlte) which I'd been using CM14 trader418 on it, and I decided to change it to Lineage. After I flashed it on my phone, it didn't detect simcard.

I flashed 2 version of this ROM : 20180117 and 20180124. Both didn't detect simcard.

After so many searches in internet, I found that I had to update my Bootloader (BL) and Baseband (CP).

First of all you should install "Phone INFO ★Samsung★" LINK. This app tells your current Baseband and BootLoader and suggests update of them and then you should find and download them in this site : LINK
This App shown me that my phone were made in Vietnam and suggested me to flash bootloader that belongs to United Arab Emirates (PDA:N9005XXSGBQD5 and CSC:N9005OJVGBPF1)

Now you should do...

1-Download Odin 3.12 : LINK
2-Pull the battery out, wait a minute, hold down vol down, power and home to get it to download mode and connect the phone to PC.
3-Flash the downloded file with AP.

4-5-6-7-8-9...:D-BE PATIENT PLEASE...

After 10 minutes if your phone stuck in Samsung Logo, pull the battery out and go to recovery mode (Vol. up+Power+Home) and wipe data/factory reset+ wipe cache partition and reboot again...

Note that if you had previously flashed custom recovery, now it return to Factory recovery...

Now you have Official Rom with new BL and CP.

1-Get custom recovery (e.g TWRP or CWM or ...).
2-Flash it with Odin or Install their App on Google Play and then Install recoverys with their procedures...
3-Flash Lineage OS (every version that you want).

All Done...
Sorry for my bad english
with best regards

SM-N9005 new type of problem

Hi everyone,

I stumbled upon this thread after I installed lineage OS and got the issue. The modem flash fixed it, at least at first. After around 4 days of fixing it, my Internet data wouldn't work, so I restarted my phone, and got the no SIM problem again. This time though it wouldnt be fixed. I thought it was the antenna after countless flashes of different modems, that didn't seem to be the problem though. So, I thought my efs file was corrupted and I flashed back stock firmware 5.0 and the problem was gone.

I later installed Lineage again, but this time I made sure I back up the efs as well as the modem using twrp. After installing lineage I got the no sim issue, so I tried to first fix it the casual way, i.e. use the modem update flash that was suggested here, but it didn't do anything!!!( i made sure with PHONEINFO that it sticked) So, I restored the efs and the modem that I backed up from stock using twrp. The problem still persisted. An interesting thing that I noticed is that there was no "lib-sec" file in the library folder. Placing the file uploaded by op didnt fix it. So i had to go back to stock in order to get my network back.

My phone region is XSI ( United arab emirates). Also, the imei is null when the problem happens, as well as there are no CSC or PDA Versions displayed on PHONEINFO. Please help!!!I can't stand 5.0.....:(:(:(:(:(:(

V-Spec, you are my hero of the day. :highfive:

I had two Note3 with no sim card working. I tried the instructions of the thread starter with no avail. So the phones where lying here collecting dust.
Even though your instructions sound weird and hard to believe I gave it a try, and both of my Note3 are working again. :good::good::good:
How the hell did you find out?

Working solution lineage-14.1-20180301-nightly-hlte-signed.zip

Just download the file libsec-ril.so
Rename it as libsec-ril.gsm.so

Locate with root explorer or similar the file in your note 3 in :

Root/vendor/system/lib/libsec-ril.gsm.so

And rename it as libsec-ril.gsm.so.old or however you want. You will need writting permissions to do that.

Copy your previously download file you rename before and copy to the place.

Immediately you will get sim working on.

FILe is right . Location and file name was my problem and that solved it.
